Way to go, Kyran, ya Nazi! I guess I shoulda hit the "enter" key a couple times before the second sentence. Then you couldn't have removed my(relevant) post...

This is the thought police! Come out with your mouths closed.

Hey Patrick, why stop there? You don't hate me because I'm enforcing the rules. You hate the rules. Admit it.

Why don't you tell Sean to his face you think his rules are shit and leave me out of this? Because I didn't invent the rules. I'm glad I saw this thread so I know what an angst bitch you are.

I mean please dude...the rules are very clear: highlight your opinions. You want me to highlight your opinions or ask you nicely to obey forum conduct? Uh, no. I'm a mod, not your manservant. I'm cleaning house not babysitting.

If you two have a problem with the rules, then ask Sean to change them. Be honest and tell him you think the rules suck. Demand a forum where you can say whatever you want. The fact that you were censored for flaming and now are flaming again proves that I am not the cause in the equation.

You'd rather flame a person for enforcing the rules everyone knows? Why take it personally though? Why get angry? The fact that I bothered to say "Please" oughtta have shown that I wasn't trying to offend you. But no...you gotta run your mouth about anyone who would DARE tell you to abide by a certain behavior.

Keep trying.

This is the forum for flaming, Kyran. I can flame freely here. But the other post wasn't a flame; it was a one-liner.

And I hate ya 'cause yer a big head and always have been. That's OK, I can laff it off. But a mod who deletes a many-weeks-old one-liner and warns the perp(me ) is sorta exceeding his authority in my opinion. Sean is taking a chance hiring somebody as aggressive as you, dude.

I don't talk to Sean face to face, only in messages :) but I don't mind the rulez. Overall, volconvo is a good place, largely because of the etiquette, not despite it. Sean is a friendly Administrator and I conform to the rules as much as anyone here. Probably more than you, Kyran.

But, I don't want to carry on a big flame war with another member(except castille, he's over the top) even in the butterface where it is permitted. You're probably a good guy Kyran, and I agree with many of your political and social positions. I even like mods who do their jobs. And I almost let that one go, resolving to do a little better on sticking to the etiquette. But I read gr8fuldaniel's complaint on ya in another thread and thought "What the hell. Let it out..."

So, an "angst bitch", huh? Well, I wasn't gonna say this but since I know I have your ear: Your Music Sux. In my opinion...

And what happens to one-liners, Patrick?

I happen.

Considering I haven't changed your avatar to gay porn, I think the forum is in no danger of my meddling. But I agree that Sean is taking a chance; course we discussed that beforehand and everything is good to go.

Seriously, all I'm trying to do here is distinguish between people's opinions and the thread titles. When we open up the politics section and see "Bush is a dictator" and "Bush sucks" and "Bush is a nazi" then the impression is made that our forum allows individuals to piss off other members. I do not personally care one way or the other for any person's opinions, and decided (even arbitrarily I'll freely admit) that opinions do not belong in thread titles. This encourages animosity and invites flame wars.

Mountains will sooner move than my decision will. I'm not censoring your opinions, but I'd like to see you guys make an effort to clean up your topics so that they are less confrontational. I don't come here to fight and that negative atmosphere has got to go.

Btw, I care what you think of my music. I'm SO deeply hurt haha. I think I'm gonna cry. Really I am. Man...damn! Lost another fan.

Seriously, you didn't have to jump down my throat...

So are we going to agree or fight more?

Are Moderators the only ones who can insult without fear of being banned?
Or is it just OK in the Butterface?

Remember what you just told me a few minutes ago:
<!--QuoteBegin-Kyran

The rule at the top says No Insults. It does not have any conditions attached to it.

I will censor every insult I find. This is my confirmed order, so do not insult. If you refuse to abide by this policy, you will be reported to the administrator. Do you have any further questions?

Just to let you know, "This is a stupid conspiracy theory" is an insult too. This goes both ways, so give up the idea that I'm doing this only to you already.
[/quote]Were you serious when you said: "This goes both ways, so give up the idea that I'm doing this only to you already" ?

Daniel, it's butterface...

Notice that I did not censor Patrick from calling me a Nazi here.

I don't bluff. Think about what you guys have accused me of here in the past 24 hours. Does it make sense to get mad over an internet forum? No. That's why I'm able to laugh at this whole stupid day.

I expect you guys to be polite. Your opinion is your asshole. If you put your asshole into the faces of others...some are not going to like it. Be considerate of opposing viewpoints enough to unbias your topic titles. That's my only complaint.

Just don't be confrontational. Help us keep the thread list clean so that we don't send a message of intolerance as a community.

Hi again everyone,

Is this as hot as the debate gets here?

By the way, can I put my homesite in my sig line or not. I'll remove it if it is against your rules.

Thanks.

I'm not much of a fighter, man. Do a good job as a mod with my blessing...

And I try being careful to insult only in butterface. I'm not really a rebel, just a grouch

And I'll try to do better as a debater, too.

I'm totally lost trying to find my way from forum to forum, so I could get refuted real good, and I wouldn't know it yet. LOL

But, in the meantime, what's butterface?

I'm sorry. That's just begging for a very immature ad hominem right there.

It isnt muscles that Kyran is flexing, its a blatant form of censorship based on personal opinion. I can almost guarantee that he will have a 3 monkeys idol on his mantle at home

Thats what I was thinking when I saw him arguing in favor of right-wing policy today. Then I thought, maybe he is just practicing his debate skills by taking up (as a drill) the cause of the other side.
Then I thought, naw, Im giving him too much credit.

Hey Kyran: Here's a topic ya can butterface: http://www.volconvo.com/forums/index.php?s...?showtopic=3064
It's tittillating in a cheesy, gossipy sort of way, but there is nothing to debate there. What's it doing in a debatable forum? If you are really a moderator of integrity, why don't you do something about that?

I still don't know where or what the term 'butterface' means - my only guess is that of a farmboy dipping his face in the raw milk before its run through the separator.

To all you non rural people - a separator - separates the cream and buttermilk from the raw milk.

Similar to getting caught with your hand in the cookie jar.

Anyway, I like the butterface thread - where the offbeat topics live.
