Did anyone catch Hardball....Kitty Kelly said Bush was married and running around with prostitutes, abusing Cocaine, and that Bush & Laura had weed smoking parties at their home in Texas....that was all i heard, i just watched the first 5 minutes or so of Hardball....its an Hour show...so maybe i missed out. No i don't have links....Google Hardball or go to MSNBC and you'll find it fast, plus Kitty's got a book.

I read last week that there's a book out 'revealing' all this and more (such as that Laura herself used to be a dope peddlar). Well, nothing would surprise me anymore, including a desperate need to sell books.

But I ask: Aren't the already established facts horrifying enough?

Chris Matthews made her look bad; she had to play 'six degrees of separation' to get her sources. I'm no fan of President Bush's but I'm sick of non issues like what they smoked and who they banged in college. Laura sold dimebags of weed in college? As long as it was a
good bag at an honest price, who cares? All that story does is make me like her more.

They're apparently the stuff of US politics.

That's because the American public is so worried about the news channel they watch having either a liberal or conservative bias that they fail to realize that they're being fed soft, sensationalistic stories. If they could avoid politics altogether and just show the Scott Peterson, Kobe Bryant and Mark Hacking's of the world they would; all the better for the status quo.

I don't think they are so much worried as satisfied with what they get. They watch Fox or MSNBC or the three networks and think that's all the info they could possibly need.

And considering how many morons are walking around out there, it probably IS all they need.

Those who attended Bush's party don't remember it. Did he inhale?

Well, this Kitty must come up with other witnesses that she is not directly friendly with to prove anything, otherwise gossip is gossip.

Can't comment on Kelly's book. Haven't read her previous books and I'm not going to start now. Seymour Hersh's new book, "Chain of Command" I probably will read.

W. had a well established reputation as a falling down drunk before he found God and started trying to take over the world. Think I preferred him as a drunk.

PRH,
What is with you lately? Your anger seems to have gotten out of control. Without your last post this thread can stand, but for reasons I will tell you in private your last post must be deleted.

As the election draws nearer, in one of the most asinine campaigns by both parties, I find myself shaking my head in disgust.

Who CARES about 30 years ago - Now is the issue. Both parties dance in the past, while ignoring what needs done now and in the immediate future.

Now the crazies are coming out with fanatical mystical minor issue puffed up to look like a big issue.

Still in the past, still not relevant.

If only a third party could offer a choice. Politics is such a dirty word.

Hell of a choice we have for 'The Leader of the Free World'.

Not really a debate topic I know.

I believe the past HAS shown itself to be relevant in politics, as there is a level of safety when slinging mud over actions from many years ago. The whole "Swift Boat" trash campaigns are a good example. The entire argument revolves around the alleged memories of men who say Kerry didn't perform the actions which earned him his medals. The accusers' credibility hinges on ONE thing, the fact that they were in the area at the time Kerry did the things which earned him the medals and nothing more. Many have come forward and stated these men were not at the exact place necessary to have accurately witnessed the actions and others have refuted their claims outright, but they WERE in the area, and that is enough of a grey area to give Bush's sycophants the ability to shout down the other side and yet not be nailed on specifics.
More recent history is covered in more detail and generally remembered by more people to give any accusers the added weight of having to prove what they say. The Swift Boat people feel under no obligation to prove anything, and there are fewer and fewer people to refute their claims.

I feel the argument of what is truth and what is opinion or speculation IS a debateable subject.

Perhaps not relevant in real life, but certainly in politics, which bears little resemblance to reality these days.
