Most certainly evil.

I'm sorry, but I'd agree with you if you were right.

Inhabitants of “The Guild of Fools and Joculators and College of Clowns,” a grim place and one to be avoided.

I've always been wary of clowns. (Take that as you will.)

Clowns are there to make you laugh. If the clown is not a masochist they will look for comfort in being creepy while they try to make people laugh. If they are masochists then they will let people laugh at them indiscriminanlty. So if the clown is good, they are probably nice natured people, but if they are ill natured then they might try to scare people once in a while, making them evil clowns. It all depends on the clown in question, if they need comfort zones then they should not be clowns, and by comfort I mean using safe humor that might be scray to others.

It's their exaggerated features and garish colors that offend my senses. As a kid, my idea of a truly horrific TV show wasn't Twilight Zone, I loved that. It was Bozo the Clown. That guy scared me sh*tless.

Clowns freak me out. My sister collects them. Has ever since I can remember. Clown chimes, clown paint by numbers, clown cows, clown this, clown that. I used to sleepwalk and would always wake up to night terrors in her "Hall of the clowns".

Damaged me so much that 20 years later this Seinfeld episode kept me awake for a week.

Interesting 6'+, Psycho, "Were is Waldo" / Clown mix...

I think I like how you do All Hallows Eve over that way!

Nothing personal of course. Is that the clown from Stephen Kings "It"? Been so long since I saw the movie but it reminds me....

BBC NEWS | UK | Magazine | Why are clowns scary?

Quote:
Children are frightened by clown-themed decor in hospitals, a survey suggests. How did the smiley circus entertainers become a horror staple?

Anyone who has read Stephen King's It would probably never choose to decorate a children's ward with clowns.

And it probably comes as no surprise to horror fans that a University of Sheffield study of 250 children for a report on hospital design suggests the children find clown motifs "frightening and unknowable".

One might suspect that popular culture is to blame. In It, made into a television movie in 1990, Stephen King created a child-murdering monster that appeared as a demonic clown.

No mention of grandpa by name

Clowns never really bothered me. In fact, I always found Homie the clown quite entertaining.

I'd put the picture itself, but I don't remember how to do that.
