| Affordable Utility Insurance As the cost of medicene rose people feared that one doctor could take thier life savings and so medical insurance became popular. At first in the private sector but now the government is involved because both the doctors and also the insurance policies became un-affordable to normal people. Now I might be light-years ahead of the times with this proposal but we also need untility insurance. A policy that would pay all or some of your untility costs in the event you retired, got layed-off a job, or had to take a job that is below the cost of living average for your state. As a safty net, as long as you do not quit your job without just cause. "Swing low sweet safty net and carry me home". So you are covered in-between jobs and so forth. You can keep the electric and gas on, get your trash picked up by the city, and have some sort of phone service (needed to get another job - etc). Being that the insurance companies screwed up and health care is no longer affordable we might as well just go with something like S.S. to do this. You do not have much social security if you end up like a homeless bum or have to live like a pioneer with candles in your house. Renters insurance could be added if you pay in extra (to the collective fund). A United States of Insured America. You help to fund your own bail outs each month you are working. It would not be mandatory so if you work at a job making tons of money you could invest or risk taking a chance that you can save enough money to back your self up. I think it is a great idea. Wanna debate? |
