The Tree Man

When you think of your family tree, you don’t usually think of a literal “family tree” do you? Well most people wouldn’t - but unfortunately for one family in Indonesia, they do.

Quote:
LayGuy » Man Turning Into A Tree
Meet ‘Dede’ - a 35 year old father of two living in poverty in a remote village in Indonesia.

Dede grew up normal, but at 15, he had an accident where he cut his knee. From then on, warts and welts started taking over his body and have simply kept on growing to what resembles “bark like” qualities.

His wife bolted leaving him to look after his two kids. As his condition worsened, Dede became completely dependant on others for even the most mundane tasks in life - such as putting on clothing.

When he cut his knee as a teen, a virus entered his body - HPV. Human Papillomavirus
What do you think about the Tree Man story?

I saw the documentary on this. It has to be the weirdest affliction I've ever seen.

If you read the rest of the story it sounds like they are going to be able to "fix" him. Thank god I really feel for the guy.

I've never seen anything like that before.

He already has, a bit. I got curious because the article was from 2007 and since then teams of doctors have pruned him.

Somebody always seems to have it worse than me. Very humbling when I think about complaining of my lot in life.

i saw this a while back. Far and away the strangest, most far out disease I've ever seen. It's a shame they can't really cure him, I mean they cut alot off, but his hands are still big blocks.

Look out kid, they keep it all hid.
