| automatic Posts: 454 | Any potential?? I thought I'd post this here because I know the people on this site are brutally honest, which is what I want. I'm young, and I have a passion for music. I've recorded some covers and some original work lately. I've only uploaded two songs to the internet that have my vocals on them. Its on a site called acidplanet.com. I haven't received enough feedback to find out what people actually think about my vocals. ANYWAYS, long story short... does anyone sense any potential of a successful music career based off one cover I did... I chose this song because it is light and... well, the original is beautiful. Its not complete yet, but I am so unsure of myself right now I could use some guidance, or just honesty saying that I shouldn't invest to much into this (if I sound like crap). You can listen to the cover here: Orestes (cover), created by cyneyecal and presented through ACIDplanet.com (make sure you click 'Play Song') Its a song called Orestes and its by A Perfect Circle. Its my first take and its only about half of the song.... Someone please just shoot me straight on how my vocals are. Should I just stick to this as my hobby or take it further....??? ANY feedback is much appreciated. Thanks in advance. This is my signature. |

If you want to get into theater, then your voice sounds ok to me, but I realy don't know anything about singing. Thanks for the feedback... And I have the ability to sing heavier rock songs, I just chose this one because it reveals my capabilities with tone and such... Even if you don't know anything about singing you still have an opinion on if something sounds good. If I get a "sounds ok to me" thats a good start, because I am just starting out on this whole vocal Shiite. Hopefully I will get a lot better... Quote:
SO true.... oh so true. But I am not aiming to be a pop-star, I am aiming to be a musician. I know a lot of ugly musicians that have been hugely successful. Luckily for me I possess an appearance that is easy on the eyes... so there you go. This is my signature.

![]() Vampire Location: Newcastle, Australia Posts: 862 | You should find a music or singing forum somewhere and post this. There are thousands of smart ass muscians out there, just itching to judge your musical ability. I have alot of friends who are very good singers.. and they can't help but judge every voice they hear. You have a tough road ahead of you if you want to make a living out of music. Good luck. 1. The range of your voice : unknown You have not presented the scale of your voice. Post another song, with variety of range and/or scale. 2. The strength of your voice : unknown Post another song with variety of expressions. Try to control your breathing, so the words are being sung and/or expressed without a noticable process of inhalation within them. Try to articulate words a little clearly. Follow nobody, but yourself. (Think, you have never heard of any music and/or musician, ever. Pay no attention to what others do, but yourself.) Generally, post a new song as I suggest.

![]() Sedimentary Rock Posts: 5 | If you love music, stop recording yourself and listening to it over and over and adding effects and echoes to your voice. The best thing you can do is sing at the top your lungs in as many open mics as you can until you have enough confidence to know from what you do that feels good and what needs change. Clearly you are somewhat new to the music scene and haven't fully developed your voice, it doesn't happen over night. Be patient with yourself and have fun with it. |
