The definition taken from the other thread is a free thinker is someone who can admit and see the influence on their own thinking from the world around them. That person taking into account that influence and how it affects their own thoughts. Yet there seems to exist a preconceived notion that any christian is just blindly accepting something. That if they were to really think for themselves they would apply skepticism and no longer be a believer. What do you say to an atheist who sneezes? Yourdeadthatsit! - Dane Cook |

Jesus was a independant thinker ( aka - free thinker ) and did not just follow Temple beliefs by blind faith. The real purpose of religion is to save people from worldly influences even if most modern churches are not doing so. "You shall come to know the truth, and the truth will set you free". Free from what? From the lies and deceptions and temptations. "being within the would but not OF the world" That does not mean you are an alien from outerspace. It means you are "apart" from the world because you can think for your self as an independant rather then part of the "mainstream". | |
