Well you are ignoring the obvious practical stance that his being there endangers the rest of his platoon. He is an obvious political target for attacks and therefore is unnecessarily endangering the rest of his unit by his presence.

His being there was not endangering the rest of the unit when his presence was not blabbed all over the damned media!

If having a member of the royal family serving on active duty was such a problem for the Brit military, why the hell would the Brit government even allow it?

Troop whereabouts and identities of service members should never be divulged to the media since the media is itself a danger to military operations.
