The Haunted Sea

As we swim around in the ocean is it sometimes possbile to notice that some spots in the water are cooler then other spots. According to paranormal science that would suggest that the ocean might be haunted by ghosts.

If they detect cold spots in a house they claim that is because of the presence of the spirit of some dead person.

Now we know the ocean has warm jet streams and cold locations. But in lots of places the water just suddenly feels cooler then at other spots. That is real evidence that perhaps a evil spirit or some lost soul is around in the water.

And with all the ships that sank into the deep, it would not be impossible if you agree with the para-normal science used for ghost detection and confirmation.

Now if you suddenly get a chill that is a sign of something evil being present, as you can catch a cold or fever and get real sick, such medical evidence cannot be overlook. No more so then we can overlook the fact the badboys chilling out in the hood are up to evil doings.

And this is supposed to be science? What rubbish. Currents carry cold & warm water around the world, up & down and all over. Perfectly natural.

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

Ask a doctor if you can catch a cold from getting a chill. I mean a real, board certified doctor, not a witch doctor or doctor of paranormal activity.

Hey its a good theory. I love ghost stories.

I do feel those random cold spots when im swiming sometimes...

Anyone have a scientific explanation for it?

This probly doesn't belong in the science section though.

My rather simple theory here is that the sun heats the water at uneven levels. Imagine it as taking a frozen steak, throwing it on the grill for ten minutes, then cutting it up. The center will still be cold while the outside is warm and cooked. The ocean is just like this at the beach, and with all the people in the water its sure to get churned up and temperature differences will be broken up into pockets rather than layers.

The only thing separating holy writ from complete bullshit is your perspective. Its your only weapon, keep the safety off.

Would air not carry warm and cold spots around in a haunted house?

If you use some means to detect changes then that would be a scientific investigation, according to paranormal science if a ghost is present then the energy where it is at would change causing the air in that location to drop in temperature.

Well, water in the ocean, lake, or even a swimming pool can have spots that are colder then the surrounding waters. Which can be detected with some kind of scientific technology.

Now where else would I put a topic about paranormal science, other then in the science forum where it belongs?

Anyway I got this notice that said "welcome back Technosoul, happy debating and "enjoy". I enjoy posting this topic here so I can get happy debating all you science buffs.

Ha? (see, I am already tickled pink).

Dr Ron Paul got the "cold treatment" from the Republican Party and lost the primary election, and he is a certified doctor (more or less).

Sounds like somethin' evil goin on to me.

Well, if they vote for Hillary perhaps I can afford a board certified doctor and then I will ask him/her that question. Meanwhile I think I will stay out of a cold draft just to play it safe.

I think it belongs here because only real science can offer an alternative explaination for claims made by paranormal researchers who claim to use scientific methods.

Well if swimmers can cause temperature differences to break up into isolated pockets then a ghost could do the same thing if they have this "energy field" aound their spirit, eh? Their icy fingers could cause the surrounding water to cool down, which is the reverse of the frozen steak theory.

Although the sun wams things up with energy, the sun does not cool things down with energy, some other kind of energy would be needed to to put the chill on the water, and/or a lack of energy from the sun. Perhaps the energy of the ghost prevents the sun energy from warming up that spot where it is located. In a counter-active type motion.

We all know that things appear to die in the cold winter and to come alive in the warming springtime of summer. Death is a cold spirit of energy perhaps? At least I never met any hot deadheads at a party.

My concern is that none of the paranormal researchers are checking out those haunted ships in the ocean with their technological instraments. So we don't know what might be lurking around down in the depths. And being that water flows around everyplace, and might even end up in our kitchen sink, we need a way to check if evil spirits are in the cold water, otherwise we must boil all our water real hot to make it safe to drink.

And being that we are suffering from global warming due to the scientific fact that the ocean temperatures are warming up a tad bit, this might be a sign that the ghosts are slowly vanishing from our oceans, perhaps the rapture is taking place and no knows that doomsday is near. Hmm?

Part of being intellectual is using your own mind to consider the information you encounter and expressing your own thoughts coherently.
I think you've done that. The occurance of cold water as due to the absense of heat, or presense of ghosts? I think that is an interesting observation. But I would bet even if you could prove it, 99.999% of the time, cold water is just cold water.

What I can add though, is you associate cold water, with fear. I make that association. I make sure that every time I get into the shower, the water is warm before I get in. Because if it gets cold when I'm in the shower, I start thinking of monsters, or the movie Psycho.

Another thing that bothers me, is not being able to see and/or stand on the bottom of lakes/ponds. So to me, cold water and no bottom is when Jaws will drag you under. Even though I know sharks live in oceans, it still bothers me.

Maybe the rotund members of Polar Bear clubs are actually agents of the devil and when they cannonball into frigid waters they are causing the icy ghosts to ricochet down to hell - where they serve the purpose of air conditioning satan's office.

We have lots of interesting terms, such as "cold blooded killers". And being next to a warm fireplace or campfire gives us a sense of security and relaxaton that calms our fears or stresses.

Why hell would be like a warm fireplace instead of an iceberg is beyond me to imagine. If I had wrote that book I might have reversed that story.

You might enjoy re-watching the movie Powder now showing on Starz TV ( I think I spelled their name wrong?). One line in the movie said "when our brain becomes pure 100 percent energy we will no longer need our physical bodies". However, if that did happen at death that energy could be detectable with the right instraments, which is what those paranomal researchers believe. So it might not be just the water that is cold, but the energy within the water. The water, like air, would just be a medium, a conductor.

Now to change this line of thinking I can also speculate that "cold water is just cold water". (unless heated up by some method). So why go into some big and unwarrented speculation about ghosts and so forth?
My logical side would totally agree.

But our brain also interprets data for us and for some unknown reason we have lots of sayings and symbolisms that make us think that coldness is something ghostly evil or negative. Because of such thought processing a ghost story sounds somewhat true, it seems to be something we can relate too as having a "ring of truth".

To get sceintific we must first ask why cold water is cold, or why warm water is warm. "Energy" would come to mind I would think, but not sure if science would agree or not. I think science would agree.

Can the energy that makes up our personal identity as our mind and emotional system continue to exist apart from our body after death? One scientist said that such energy cannot just vanish after it has come into existance. Thus an afterlife as a being of pure energy is possible from a scientific point of view, as a speculation anyway. Energy in a ghostly form.
