The system does a good job at making a work force who is in debt so they have no chose but to work, employers really like that kind of emplyee because they won't be walking off the job as much as an employee that has a savings and has more freedom to pick his or her job. I already have taught my 3 year old daughter about stars and constellations - other suns... She understands. F the public schools, They can teach the back bone but I will provide a supplement. |

If they grow up to value knowledge and enjoy the pursuit of it, they (hopefully) will never settle for simply believing everything they're told. ![]() The Cake is a lie... Location: St. Louis Posts: 2,388 | While there are definitely people who do not want to become educated for cultural reasons (and it's a damn tragedy), I think the bigger danger is from those of us who are convinced they're intelligent and know what they're talking about when the opposite is in fact true. I call it "Peggy Hill" Syndrome. Similarly, another real threat in this area is people who confuse intelligence with ideology / philosophy. It's these people who are tearing our country apart. It is the very source of punditry. What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality? |

Furthermore, where have I called someone stupid for believing in conservative or liberal ideals? What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality? |
