What is the way you debate people? What kind of techniques do you use? Do you think some styles and techniques are good or bad?

I have to debate people by combining my opinions with logic, because I don't have very many facts to back anything up. I am only fifteen, after all.

It used to be that finding the facts was the hard part, now its easy to find a source but finding one that is unbiased can sometimes be a challenge. People tend to doubt statistics about atheists from jesusarmy.com.

Sometimes I wouldn't even have the first idea what facts to look for information about. It's confusing.

I like to think my debating is an eclectic mix of wit, wisdom, sarcasm, humor and pure righteous indignation.

I usually try and find sources, if it's needed, otherwise I'll simply state my opinion on the matter, usually respectful of pure facts.

Perhaps not always logical, or correct, but it's a learning process, is it not?

I like discussing things, more than debating anyway, because my emotions can sometimes get the better of me. :]

Since I'm usually too lazy to go about and find sources (which I will do if I have to), I do what I can with the facts already provided. Most of the arguments I make can be reformatted into syllogisms.

I tend to use logic and analogies to make my point. i'm not usually a very opinionated person, though i do tend to make my stance clear on the few that i am (See: Abortion is.....)
and i like to use opinions to fuel my arguments if i have one, though i can argue either side of an issue. Facts i will look up, if i feel a particular point needs some extra oomph, or if someone asks me, but i never say something without knowing i can get facts/statistics for it SOMEWHERE. i -always- look up the source of something. i tend to like to debate morals more than just pure facts, a small trademark i carry from debating LD on my high school's debate team, hehe. ^^" Wow, this went on longer than i thought it would. this shows my last point, i suppose. i -love- to rant. i usually take two or three arguments and just push on them like crazy, and rant on those few key arguments.
