Da-Anime - Offline

But they've been having some server difficulties lately.. If they're offline then try here:
animeEDEN
(scroll down to find it, then copy and paste the rapid share link into your browser)

This page has the series in english:
animeEDEN

If you like it, then read the manga. Its much better.

One of my links linked to rapid share, does that work on Mac?

if not, try Anime A - Free Anime Downloads Episodes!. But it just links to other file downloading sites as well.

Anime A works. Thx!

The rapidshare linked thread was from 2006, many of the files listed no longer exist to download.

Yeah, things like FMA get kinda scarce after a while (since being shown on Cartoon Network, licensed in U.S., etc.).

Jesus technically violated code when he grew angry at the tax collectors.

And were talking about a profit based law to protect greedy companies.

Inspired by the threads on consumption and control, there exists a feeling expressed by several members here that government control, and power to a few individuals in always a bad thing.
It's still the law, and somewhat strange that out of all the silly laws that you have advocated people be punished for, that somehow stealing doesn't apply to you.

It's not stealing.

There things that exist on the net. Someone likely owned them and uploaded them.

Doesn't compare to some of the other laws people here advocate breaking, such as not paying taxes and making those who don't pay into some kind of hero.

If you don't buy anime, then the producers, distributors, and most importantly the artists don't receive the money necessary to keep the tank going. This beckons the question of fairness, that is, why do you deserve to watch for free when the money that allows for it to be created is coming from people of social status equal to yourself?

Are you implying that none of you download music for free? Would even consider it?

Most anime I would consider would come from private sellers on ebay. So no, even if I bought it there, I would not be impacting the artist in any way since he/she is beyond benefit from a private transaction.

Get off your intellectual high horse.

I download alot of anime. I never realy cared much about law and morals and all that..

But today I read an article in a magazine (I read the article in the shop and didn't buy the magazine. Im a terrible person DX)
The article basicly said that Im destroying anime.. and that the fansubbers* are destroying anime.

Basicly, my logic works like this. I do not like english versions of anime. I strongly dislike the people who dubb the anime to make it english.
Thats why I don't want to support those companies. I don't want to pay for an overpriced DVD, when I hate half of the content. If the japanese put subtitles on their dvds then I would try to import them - but they don't.

But I do want to support the japanese producers.
So, I've decided that I will pay for the manga+. Since I like manga more, and I generaly read more manga then I watch anime.
Its going to take me a while to catch up on all the manga's that I've downloaded.. because Im a poor student.. but Its my goal to buy them all (probably when Im a rich engineer).

But I want to defend downloading anime.
Most animes arn't on TV, and the anime that is on TV has crappy voices, and edited story lines.
The internet is the only way we can see anime. Thats why we need the internet. Without it we would have no idea whats out there. Anime would have a tiney western audience.

Japan probably make more money thanks to fansubbers - its just that episodes owned dosen't equal episodes sold. So now that they have used fansubbers to build a huge anime fan base, they are turning around and complaining that they don't have as much as they could.

Japan should:
- Subtitle their own anime
- Release it on the internet - and charge people to download it
- Draw pictures of much loved characters asking anime fans to pay for their downloads.

* fansubbers: fans who subtitle anime themselves, then upload the subtitled anime for everyone else to download

+ Manga: Original comic version of the animes.

Most anime on ebay is bootlegged. Buying it supports criminals.

You have a serious problem if you think we have done anything wrong and you are in the right.

Seems to me like your moral reasoning looks out for your immediate convenience, not for the health of the industry (including the consumers) we all benefit from.

Well, I have in the past, but not recently. However, after thinking things through, it really isn't something a sensible person can support.

For that matter, I have actually watched one downloaded anime -- a person close to me really wanted me to see it and they didn't have another way of showing it to me on the spot (plus I didn't want to seem uncool), so I went along with it. It was good. Anyway, assuming fate spares me, I intend to buy that anime as soon as the opportunity comes up.

Anyway, calling corporations greedy (although true) is just ridiculous because it is a demonization of your victim so you don't have to feel bad about yourself -- taken to its extreme (and I have actually seen this in people) illegal anime and music downloaders have actually perceived themselves as heroes fighting against the system, which is silliness to the tenth dimension.

If you have a problem with corporations who deal in anime, then the 'heroic' thing is something which requires a genuine struggle on your behalf -- like giving up anime altogether and overcoming your desire to see it when it is right there, waiting to be downloaded.

Somehow I doubt that.

Most anime on ebay comes in the original packaging. You sound like my mother saying that everything on ebay is stolen and sold illegally in china.

That does not stack with my experience and analysis nor that of others, but I will concede it is possibly true since I have not conducted anything like a formal scientific investigation into the matter . However, even if most anime available for purchase on ebay is legal, I imagine much of the anime bought are bootlegs.

Moreover, when 'high dollar' groups are involved, there are many bootlegs disguised to look like original packaging, and sellers are not especially forthright about this.

Anyway, that's not my most important point. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt since I put the second part of my post there in an edit, but I would like a response to it as well.

For downloading music it is no more harmful than any other activity.

When you think about it your spending your time typing on a computer while millions are starving worldwide. Millions more live in oppressed countries where a computer is only a fantasy for the rich and corrupt.

Everytime you use power, consume food, drive a car, or almost any activity you are using resources where in many cases came from the sweat the labor of underpaid people in poor conditions around the globe.

If denying a music company 99 cents by downloading a song is a moral issue for you do you feel about daily american life?
