It annoys me to see gays make judgments like "Gay people who act like the stereotype" against other gays. It annoys me because it's a typical straight attitude, not one that gays should espouse. Many of my gay friends have fought long and hard to achieve the freedom to behave the way they want to, the freedom to be who they are, the freedom not to be told how to act by others. Of all people, gays should be the most tolerant of those who wish to be stereotypical as well as those who don't.

However, I'm not as annoyed when I hear or see that said by a young person who is still learning the difficult lessons of tolerance and acceptance. Character is developed over time and through experiences. I'm willing to give them the time to build their own character.

You like Futurama?? Futurama is like an inebriated version of Friends, which is just about the worst show ever created. I'd have to say Full House takes the cake though.

Don't make exceptions for me because I'm young or "still learning the difficult lessons of tolerance and acceptance", I know what I said.

You have to see it from my point of view. At school, everything that somebody things is stupid, or anything they disagree with is called "gay". It's because gays go overboard on the freedom boat, and feel they have to fit the stereotype.

But they're really just making it all the easier for everybody else to use the stereotype. Even if they're doing it because it seems like freedom, it really just creates more problems.

There was a kid at my school who was openly gay last year, in fact the only openly gay kid at my school in the two years I've been there.

He wore a v neck all the time, talked with a lisp, came to school pretending to be gender confused on Halloween, and looked at magazines of women's clothing all day.

Homosexuality is a physical attraction to the same sex. It's not a need to dress like the opposite gender or talk like you have speech problems. All of that stuff is simply those people trying to be defiant, and tell the people making stereotypes that they don't care.

But they're really just helping those people to make more stereotypes.

In the great Volconvo tradition and precedence of going off topic I just want to say.
The use of stereotypes is a very good way to gain acceptance among the mainstream society.
Negroes calling themselves Nigger have made the word acceptable to themselves and as a way of expressing solidarity for themselves.
Gays calling themselves "gay" have made the term gay acceptable to the main stream and has a way of expressing solidarity.
Stereotypical behavior is non threatening and is a means of gaining acceptance and tolerance.

In my experience I have not seen gays "make judgments......against other gays" who, act like the stereotype.
That's usually a hetro reaction, why would gays feel threatened by other gays behavior unless they are trying to hide their own identity.

However, what annoys me is wives who get annoyed when I eat most, NOT ALL, of the chocolates I bought her for valentines.
Its not like I ate the flowers I gave her.

Soylent, it seems to me you skipped over all my posts. He was talking about me.

I don't think that gays adding all these stereotypes has been helping at all. Like I said,

And to add another thing, people who can't pronounce words correctly really bug me. My mom can't say empañada, she says empanada.

In my experience, because most gays make themselves so easy to stereotype (because it makes them feel free), everybody has started to use the word gay as an outlet for frustration.

When a teacher at my school does something unfair, my friends explain how gay it was during lunch. Anything boring is gay. Anything cheesy is gay.

I'm just saying, what is the point in helping people make all these stereotypes??

This IMO, could mean that you consider it better not to have the freedom to act as you want to act. The problem is the non accepting attitude of the hetro's and that should be their problem and not be allowed as a reason to hide your nature.

I have an extremely socially sensitive gay friend who is also frustrated by this.

50 years ago when accusing somebody of being gay could lead to a jail sentence , Today the term is said often with no repercussions.
Usage leads to acceptance.

Oh to h*ll with the topic.

I hate Friends. Futurama is far more clever. I don't know what you've been watching...

Only if you drive it like a moron. You know, using the line, parts of others' lanes, the shoulder, etc. like they're another lane. Kicking off from people's cars. Harassing drivers. Cutting people off. Stuff like that. The reason why motorcyclists who drive like this bother me is because it's very reckless and I'd never forgive myself if I hit one...even if it was entirely not my fault.
