Who do you want to win in the superbowl?

As I am getting ready to go to a Superbowl party, I thought about this. Who do I want to win? It is much different atmosphere in Chicago this year. Last year at this time I was already on my way to getting drunk and thinking of the excuse to leave on my boss's voicemail. Then the game started and Hester ran back the opening kick-off and the shots of Jack started rolling. After that Manning tossed the interception. Well after that, well it went downhill quick.

This year the Bears sucked big time and I hate both of the teams in the big game, but my buddy who is throwing the party says that you have to root for the Pats! He believe we are about to witness history. Is that good enough to root for Tom Brady and gulp Randy Moss. Maybe, but on second thought I think I am just going to play cards and watch the ads.

Sincerely,
An Overly Disgruntled Bears Fan

I feel so rebellious, but I honestly don't care about the Superbowl at all.

Does it really affect us at all?

I say Giants just because I hate that pretty boy. Maybe he should go guest star on Family Guy again.

G-Men! Pats can go tattoo 18-1 on their foreheads to remind them!

Hahaha. I loathed both teams, but I loathe the Patriots just a little more because all I've heard all season is "Perfect Pats". It made me want to disembowel something. So I'm glad the Giants won.

I doubt anyone wanted the Patriots to win beside New England fans. The Patriots had to lose. For all I know, whether they cheated against the Rams, and Eagles lays on the bed. I'm going to laugh my ass off if they did, we'll one day know.

Well alot of people do care.

Yes the Super Bowl is way over hyped, but true football fans can see past all the song and dance. We got to see David & Goliath reenacted live last night. It was an unbelievable game.

I am a die hard life long Colts fan, so watching the smug Patriots fall was a pleasure beyond compare.

I'm sure they do. It's just that at the moment my sporting focus is on the Six Nations...

Is that a soccer reference? "Six nations"?

Nope, rugby.

In football the big tournament going on at the moment (aside from domestic competitions, obviously) is the African Nations Cup, but the Six Nations is an annual rugby tournament between England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, France and Italy.

Edit: Here's the BBC website...there's a dedicated site to it somewhere too, I'm sure.

I wanted the Giants to win but thought the Patriots would. Imagine my joy last night. I do not dislike any of the players in New England, but man do I hate their coach. And his class was on display for all to see when he left the field before the clock ran out. The players HAD to go back on the field, he should have stayed on the sidelines and taken the defeat like a man. Instead...we watched the snake slither into a hole.

I root for giants as well, but i was mainly watching the Super Bowl for the commercials, which unfortunately weren't great. :( Also, don't know much about rugby, what exactly is it? I'm not a big sports fan.

Click on the link, have a look at some of the video footage. Think American Football without the padding.

To be fair, I seem to recall that the padding/armour was forced upon American Football after a couple of deaths on the field in the early 1900s. So far, rugby has been lucky in that respect.

People have died playing American Football (EVEN WITH PADDING). Right there on the field, hit and died. Paralyzation is another big issue.

Rugby is a tough ass sport for sure. You gotta be a real man to play that. The big difference between Rugby and the NFL is SPEED and SIZE. 6'6 240 pound men that run a 4:5 40 would destroy an unarmored rugby player. 10 minutes of unpadded NFL football and your Aussie Rugby stars, any of 'em, would never walk again.

crazy football hits

Thank you for beating me to this. I hate it when Rugy people go down this path. Different game, different rules, different dangers. It's like saying "Sissy Nascar drivers! I drive my car everyday and don't wear flame resistant suits or strap myself in like I'm getting shot into space!" And I don't even like Nascar.
