![]() Hot Lava Posts: 1,193 | How Many Weapons do you own? this question of how many weapons do you own is posed with thanks from a reply by Keith Hamburger on this thread Forget the green technology - the hot money is in guns the weapons questioned are those that can be used to defend or attack so do you possess a weapon(s) how many and what sort (here thanks to Grandpa who seams consider only guns are weapons, only teasing Grandpa no real offence meant) |

Judging by Osborn's arsenal and his sly comment about "admitting" to what he owns. I won't be challenging him to any gunfights. |

| Principled Observer Location: Toledo, Ohio Posts: 13,877 | I only said "admitting" because these are the things I have posted on the internet before. I have others, but haven't listed them, and don't intend to. Not because they are illegal, but because I value my privacy. Thats a nice Glock by the way, and I would love to have one. My brother had a .45 Glock that I shot a few clips through, and was quite impressed. I like my Star PD, because it is small, not bulky (though it does not have a staggered row magazine, which I would prefer), and I can carry it locked and loaded with the safety on. If you have chunky hands however, it can bite the web of your hand on recoil. Any idea on how many rounds you have put through your glock? I am curious how the fit and finish lasts with repeated use. The finish is fine. Mainly because I keep it in a soft poly holster instead of a hard leather holster. What impresses me most with the model 30 is the stopping power of a .45 with such a small and light weight gun. It just feels so comfy in your hand. | |

![]() Mass'Debator Posts: 4,730 | I no longer posses any firearms, but I have been adding to my collection of blades.... I have my father's old combat/survival knife he had while in the military, I have my grandfather's hunting knife, a few swiss, and last x-mas my dad got me this: ![]() As he collects WWII uniforms, medals, weapons, flags, etc. and he had a couple of extras of these kicking around. If and when I need to get a firearm again, I will.... it's not difficult. |

| Libertarian Location: Colorado Springs, CO Posts: 1,609 | I own an SLR-95, a beautiful weapon. It's a Bulgarian made version of the AK-47 with a milled receiver (most have stamped steel receivers) and I have 5-30rd magazines to go with it. I have an old, cheap 44 magnum revolver. It shoots straight, is extremely powerful, and having paid less than $200 for it, I don't worry much about what happens to it. Like Ruksack I have a 12 guage pump which is my standard home defense weapon. I don't keep it loaded with buckshot. I started loading it with three rounds of #8 game load, followed by 2 rounds of #4 field load. Within the house, the light loads I start with are unlikely to do any damage to anyone after they pass through a wall. The last two rounds are just in case I need something heavy at short range. If I get past those, the 44magnum would come out. My wife has a Taurus Millenium Pro PT-145, a beautiful little gun, actually one of the most compact 45s made in the world today. But, it's double stack magazine still holds 10rds. Beyond that, various small caliber rifles and pistols for plinking and target practice without spending a fortune on ammunition. The single shot Springfield .22 that I got when I was about 10 years old is one of the best rifles I've ever owned. I use empty 12 guage shells for target practice at 50 yards and hardly ever miss. My father in law's old 22 revolver is fun for shooting shotgun shells at 10-15 yards. I do miss more often with that whan with the rifle. One comment that often comes up in gun discussions here has to do with training. I know that many (possibly most) gun owners on this forum have military experience. As a former infantryman, myself, I think this should qualify me just fine for owning firearms. Unfortunately, it's not enough for my state government to give me a hunting license. They insist that I attend a safety course before I can go hunting. Keith (As to sticks and pokey things, let's not even bother.) The great thread killer. |

I like my AK, its suprisingly accurate for what it is. I plan on upgrading to a combat rifle, as opposed to an assault rifle as soon as I can. I want to get a 7.62 NATO CETME. A friend of mine picked one up a few years ago and it is a very nice weapon, and I prefer the NATO 7.62 to the 7.62X39. CETME - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Quote:

I have never had formal classes on firearms training outside the U.S. Navy. I have however been an avid firearms enthusiast since I was about twelve, and consumed about every piece of training material I can get my hands on, both text and video, both military and private. I shoot as often as I can afford the ammo, but for the last two years the ammo budget has been pretty tight. By the way, nice collection Keith. I like the SLR's. ![]() Petition of Redress of Grievances: http://www.givemeliberty.org/default.htm Canadian Lawsuit Against Their National Banks: http://www.freewebs.com/classaction/ Osborn F. ![]() Never mad Location: Hong Kong, China Posts: 1,877 | I live in China where owning a gun is a capital crime. I do have a wooden Japaneses sword lying around the house somewhere. That thing is deadly enough. Also got a security desk outside my apartment complex. And I can always use my sister as a human body shield Don't forget this is all in good fun! It does mean that I have to be in the same room with anyone who is threatening me. And a hit has to be fairly direct to do any significant damage. But, it still is more effective and less accuracy is required than the pistol. Hell, the slide on the pump alone is likely to destroy the picture windows in the front of the house. If a burglar hears that they'll probably jump through those windows to get the hell away. Keith The great thread killer. | |

| Libertarian Location: Colorado Springs, CO Posts: 1,609 | Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against sticks and pokey things. I just couldn't see the sense in itemizing down to my pocket knives when I had already submitted a substantial list. Sticks and pokey things are far better than surrendering and crying.
