EIA vs ERA

I've heard the terms thrown around before:
Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Risk Assessment. These are now required for most projects that would change the environment in any way.

What is the difference between ERA and EIA, and which is more important?

I don't know but both are just excuses for government to have more and more control over people's lives.

Indeed, but meaningless in this thread. An EIA is indeed an Environmental Impact Assessment required by government before some construction projects are allowed to proceed. I have no knowledge about an 'Environmental Risk Assessment'. What is it and what laws require it?

I understand that your question is, "what is the difference." The difference is that one is a requirement of government, the other is not. One may be required for a construction project, the other is not.

Was the mistake yours or your sources'.
