Just incase you are wondering what to do with the acorns on the ground, here is an explanation of how to prepare them for cooking and a recipe.
It conviently comes with a recipe for squirrels and opossums.

Because of humans feeding ducks, our parks, we also have an abundance of ducks that stay year round, and ducks are also good to eat. Nice with apples. :)

If you want blackberry jam with your acorn pancakes, it is too late, unless you already picked them and made jam last month. However, two weeks ago, I did find some edible berries, and you might be lucky.

Harvesting the Acorns

Kuldeep, you can eat the acorns, but they are a lot of work. First you have to crack the nut shell, then pound the nuts into a mush. Then you have to rise the mush with a lot of water, until the water runs clear, or the acorns will be bitter. After all this, you need wheat flour and corn meal to go with the acorn mush, to make a pancake.

Don't just eat the acorn nut! It is bitter. Yuk.
