| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 3,833 | Thousands honour US firefighters "A memorial service is taking place in South Carolina for nine firefighters killed in a blaze on Monday." I believe that Monday, the same day that these 9 died, we lost 14 GI's in Iraq. The 14 got barely a mention on the news, and that was the last we heard of them. Meanwhile, the 9 "heroes" have been on continually, with a joint memorial today, attended by high mucky-muck politicos and "dignitaries", to be followed by individual services in the coming days with, no doubt, continuous coverage and updates. The 14 GI's simply follow the 3500 plus that have faded into obscurity. Seems to me that something is wrong here.
