I'm generally quite content, thanks for asking. I'll be even more content in three days, when school's out for ten weeks. :)

Can dissidence reek?

I'm not just content, I'm context.

(That would sound rather clever if I were speaking it instead of having to type it.)

With my life as it stands? Yes, I'm content.

With the overall state of the world? Slightly less so.

I'm generally content, but, from time to time, I think I deserve better.

I am satisfied with what I am and have; I am not wanting more or anything else.
However I am not always in agreement with others, neither do I easily give my assent

No body can be content in the abolute sense. As long as one is alive, he has to strive for happier life day after day, if not moment after moment. I agree, materialistically one can be satisfied and content with the possesion, fame, family welfare etc. etc. one has. But, as long as one lives he has to eat, sleep and breathe. For such day to day activity one has to exhert and even think for maintaining proper health of self, family and the like.
In that context, I say absolute contentment is not possible till, one is alive !!!

not until they realize god

"One day or the other, in the life of every man must come a time when he too feels the call of the spiritual ideal. When such a call comes, he cannot help but listen to it. Nothing in the world can then give him satisfaction. He can never find peace until he follows the dictates of the higher call." -- Swami Yatiswarananda

I'm content in the sense that I have many contentions- is that what you meant?

so glad I'm a woman

I'm content. Things could be so much worse. I'm greatful for the life I have.

For the most part, I am quite content. I had a successful career in which I was respected by my peers. I have a loving wife who I love beyond measure. We have had two children who have been quite successful in their careers. The only note of dissonance in my life is that the President of my country actually lied in order to create an excuse to show that he has a bigger pair than his father. Only an idiot surrounded by idiots would believe that invading Iraq would not result in civil war with us in the middle. So, contrary to the recommendations of the military, our President has maintained that troop levels were sufficient up until the day that he declared that a surge was necessary. This is the dope that didn't have the balls to actually complete his National Guard obligation, in which he was allowed to enlist because his daddy pulled strings, while the rest of his generation were serving in Viet Nam. And yet, he sends others where he lacked the courage to go.

I am content with my life. I've found that when i'm not content, then actually come to terms with reality, usually I become content. We wouldn't know our good times if not for the bad... etc...

Of course there are things that I am not content with, but such is the spice of life.... I guess in that regard, I'm content with my discontent.

Soylent tame your that black dog like derek ! He is very much philosophic, when he said he is content with his discontent !!! This is higher order of sprituality and contentment. A positive thinking I would say !!!

A totally apparent discontentment as common person would term it. But, due to one's positive thinking and with strong spritual mind, one can try to be content with a thinking that current discontentment is less hurting than had it been more than at present. This is how discontentment is converted to contentment !!!

I remember a story of two friends. One drew a line and asked his friend to make it bigger without extending from either side. The other friend using his wits, just drew another line under the first line but kept it less in lenth than the first one. Thus, making the first line larger without extending from either sides.

On the basis of this line story I also converted fixed discontentment into contentment !!
