It's so nice to be noticed.....your names are all on "the list". *laughs evilly*

My MVP would be Sonart. Admittedly, he's a hit & run poster, goes missing for ages, but the man is a gamebreaker. Notable mentions go to CoffeeSaint & fushigi.

Most Philosophical would be Athena or Kuldeep, based on the fact that Athena actively looks for topics on philosophy to discuss, no matter how little interest there may be, and Kuldeep is always happy to chip in with his view of the universe.

As far as Breaking News reporters go, Praxius, you're beginning to remind me of a spambot. Try some international sources as well as those Canadian websites too, willya? Still, in the past few months, it has definately been you keeping it ticking over....fair play.

Most Devoted....I would say at this moment, arielmessenger classes as 'Most Devoted', even if it is to his particular brand of Christianity.

Most Entertaining for me is Ish.

As for other awards, I have some other categories, but I'm saving them to be inscribed on my Big Iron Boot.

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

Most Devoted--I'd say rmnunez--his member ID is in the double-digits and he's still been posting tirelessly since the first days of Volconvo. G. Adams also deserves a nod.

Most Entertaining for me would be Compugasm or RickSp. I'd also nominate Mr. Vicchio, but I'm pretty sure he's not entertaining me intentionally.

Personally, I'd choose MVP awards for each forum.

For Current Events, Praxius and bishop.
For Politics, RickSp and Nono.
For Society & Rights, The Bacon Guy, CoffeeSaint, ZNFYRH, Fangrim and Dirty Name.
For Philosophy & Religion, Athena, Zhavric, and Kamehemama34.
For Science & Technology, Pooeypants.

I won't touch the others.

Chatty. Likes to chat about the debaters and not the debate. That's what I'm guessing.

Well I only post about 1/3 of the news I read in a day..... I only post what I think will either get a stir out of those here, or give people something to debate over.

I also check out CNN and BBC news sites, but besides that, since I don't live in other countries, It's difficult to get a site that I will know is credible or at least accurate, so I try and stick to what I know.

Another reason why I have so many threads in the Breaking News, etc. is because when I started posting news, I noticed it was a tad dead...... I figured a debate forum should be caught up to date with what's going on in the world.

I sure wouldn't mind seeing more news from elsewhere too.... but I'd rather let those in their respective countries use their own news agencies.... rather then hog the whole thing

Absolutely. When I had time I tended to trawl the BBC looking for stuff which wasn't Europe or America-centric....unfortunately, quite a few threads ended up dying a death because of lack of interest. Still. News is news, and at least your stuff is from a national agency. Carry on, by all means!

No worries, my man. You're off to a great start. I've noticed your debate / critical thinking skills have increased markedly since you came here, and you've got an open mind that is nonetheless not easily swayed--both great attributes for debate.

Keep on keepin' on!

I guess that also could be the MVP as well I suppose.

I just checked, I joined these forums back in Aug 28, 2003. Anyone know of someone else who's still active and joined earlier?

As for oldest-serving member, I think it's G.Adams.

And people who list Ish among oldest-servers are showing that they haven't been around long enough to remember a pre-Ish Volconvo. He joined on 28 January 2005, which is respectable but not ancient.

Oh what? I don't get a Rookie Nom? Fine then.... to hell wit U all!!

Speaking of which, when did I join? I know it couldn't have been a year yet??

Well to the point now, I think there should be a few more for variety, as well as to cover additional key points to the forum, imo:

MVP of the Year ~

Rookie of the Year ~

Volconvo Lifetime Achievment Award ~

Moderator with the Biggest Iron Boot ~

Most Devoted Religious Debator ~

Most Political Debator ~

Most Entertaining Member ~

Most Philisophical Debator ~

Most Social Debator ~

Breaking News Reporter of the Year ~

Forum Clown of the Year ~

I would nominate myself for many of those.... but I am full of myself, so it'd be a bit biased.

I think in the Misc. Section of the forums, create a vote thread for each of the above, with the nominated names for those in each category, then you would have an accurate choice selection for each one, voted by the members here. I remember in an older forum I spent time in, there were things such as this done.
I value Kuldeeps contribution very much, because his Indian point of view is so different from the majority. People from around the world make a very valuable contribution because they do have a different view, and they are to be greatly admired if they hang around for more than a month, considering how poorly their different points of view can be recieved.

As far as "most this", "best this, worst that"...., I will simply quote Dylan:

Quote:
My Back Pages
First Release

Another Side of Bob Dylan
1964

Crimson flames tied through my ears
Rollin' high and mighty traps
Pounced with fire on flaming roads
Using ideas as my maps
"We'll meet on edges, soon," said I
Proud 'neath heated brow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now
.

Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth
"Rip down all hate," I screamed
Lies that life is black and white
Spoke from my skull. I dreamed
Romantic facts of musketeers
Foundationed deep, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Girls' faces formed the forward path
From phony jealousy
To memorizing politics
Of ancient history
Flung down by corpse evangelists
Unthought of, though, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

A self-ordained professor's tongue
Too serious to fool
Spouted out that liberty
Is just equality in school
"Equality," I spoke the word
As if a wedding vow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

In a soldier's stance, I aimed my hand
At the mongrel dogs who teach
Fearing not that I'd become my enemy
In the instant that I preach
My pathway led by confusion boats
Mutiny from stern to bow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now
.

Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats
Too noble to neglect
Deceived me into thinking
I had something to protect

Good and bad, I define these terms
Quite clear, no doubt, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.
