Don't you think we're jumping the gun a bit here?

Anyway, I'll bite--to honor some of the Kung-Fu Masters here who I've seen rock Volconvo's world. (I'll openly admit to being biased towards the most informed / smartest members, since it's the outside-the-box / informed views I enjoy most here.)

MVP: RickSp. He's too damn smart for his own good. He can be a bit condescending at times, but I bet Michaelangelo talked down to some of his assistants sometimes too.

Rookie of the Year: Fangrim. Don't know if he'll stick it out the rest of the year, but I hope so. The guy's damn clever, and he has a way of bringing up controversial topics that get people pissed off and making reasonable arguments to support them. (Anyway, I'm hoping he's just playing devil's advocate--if not, he's the biggest troglodyte this side of Jimmy Swaggart.)

Old-Timer Award: Sonart. I wish he posted more often. A true Kung-Fu Master if there ever was one.

Mod: bishop. Actually, as a moderator, he pisses more people off than any other, but as a member, his analysis of IR / trade / economy stuff is nearly unparalleled.

Good job so far, I'm seeing some great nominees, but I think it'd be great to get some more names on here as well as more votes for them.

Dont be afraid to post some new names out there!

Oh what? I don't get a Rookie Nom? Fine then.... to hell wit U all!!

Speaking of which, when did I join? I know it couldn't have been a year yet??

Well to the point now, I think there should be a few more for variety, as well as to cover additional key points to the forum, imo:

MVP of the Year ~

Rookie of the Year ~

Volconvo Lifetime Achievment Award ~

Moderator with the Biggest Iron Boot ~

Most Devoted Religious Debator ~

Most Political Debator ~

Most Entertaining Member ~

Most Philisophical Debator ~

Most Social Debator ~

Breaking News Reporter of the Year ~

Forum Clown of the Year ~

I would nominate myself for many of those.... but I am full of myself, so it'd be a bit biased.

I think in the Misc. Section of the forums, create a vote thread for each of the above, with the nominated names for those in each category, then you would have an accurate choice selection for each one, voted by the members here. I remember in an older forum I spent time in, there were things such as this done.

You followed all the rules except voting, kinda the point of this thread.

Yeah I know, I was also going to add that I am about to grab the bus home right now, so I want to take some time to think it over properly, without rushing to some foolish choices.

Most Social Debator would be Madeline.

As for the the rest, the jury is out.

MVP of the Year ~ (We'll pretend I haven't already nominated people, just so I can put up a whole new set of opinions. Because I enjoy hearing myself type.) Lullaby Chainer

Rookie of the Year ~ Praxius

Volconvo Lifetime Achievment Award ~ Osborn F. Enready. Man, that's a lotta posts. Nods as well to PatrickHenry and Scribbler1.

Moderator with the Biggest Iron Boot ~ If you ACTUALLY mean big iron boots, then Matt W strikes me as the type who would wear 'em, and use 'em. Metaphorically speaking, I'd say Jason takes the taco.

Most Devoted Religious Debator ~ Zhavric. No contest.

Most Political Debator ~ Osborn again. Maybe RickSp or brien.

Most Entertaining Member ~ Nono

Most Philisophical Debator ~ Technosoul

Most Social Debator ~ Mia

Breaking News Reporter of the Year ~ Dunno. I don't go in the Breaking News forum very often. So, not me.

Forum Clown of the Year ~ Mr. Vicchio. Now ask me how I feel about clowns. :)

I'd also like to nominate myself for Most On Again, Off Again But Can't Permanently Break The Freaking Habit Poster.

Well, I might as well submit mine while I'm here. I can't be bothered filling out the extended list, so I'll stick with the original.

MVP 07' - Osborn. I also like the styles of CoffeSaint and Rob, but I haven't seen Rob much this year, and Coffee went missing for two months, so they lost points on participation.

Rookie - There have been a whole load of great debators since last May, but I don't really consider people like Kam, Epistemologist, Cap'n Chaos etc. to be rookies. So out of the people I do consider to be rookies (i.e. joined in the last few months), I like Heather's style.

Old Timer - Isherwood

Mod - I think Matt W does the job very well.

(Most awesome - Me)

eh? Are we at liberty to "write in" our own sections for those awards?

I vote for Madeline as best Christian Debator.

Who is the guy with the image of a motorcycle? I vote for him also in whatever section he belongs.

Grandpa gets vote for best "one liner" debator... although ZN is running close behind... oh oh... photo finish. What now... it's a tie?

I'd only want the one-liner nomination if my one-liners are actually pertinent.

Last year I put up the topic for Volconvo's 2006 MVP so now, being 2007 I've decided to host the MVP again with a few new things.

This year the MVP will be accompanied with a few more awards for those happy members that keep volconvo going so here are some new awards and the criterion for voting....

MVP of 2007- reflects the great contributions the poster has made to Volconvo and the influencial thoughts he or she has given us. Top 4 this year instead of 5 will be in the poll later.

Rookie of the Year- intended for the best new poster on Volconvo who has made a great impact with his or her recent joining. Must have at least 100 posts to be nominated and a cap of 500 posts so far.

Old-Timer Award- For those who have been with Volconvo from its huble beginnings. Recipients must have been a member since January 2005 or earlier.

and last but not least....

Mod of the Year- for the Mod with the best impact this year. Must be a moderator.

Please cast you nominations with a reply below and nominate your candidates in the order listed above. Nominations will be tallied and later we can start taking polls for the top 4 in each category.

Let the ceremony begin!
MVP of 2007 Athena

Rookie of the Year Seems I only but, cannot logically second
myself. esxt choice is Soccerfret

Old-Timer Award- Technosoul
