NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion developing a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to over 300 C.

The Russians used a pencil.

Bush and his supporters, you mean? I've said it before, the far right are radicals, pure and simple. They do not reflect the attitudes of most of the Republicans I have known over the years and I don't think the mainstream Republicans should allow these people to use the party name, or at least publicly say these guys don't represent THEM.

I think mainstream Republicans would do themselves a favor and switch to the party which was started by disaffected Republicans in the first place, many years ago...the Libertarian Party.

If that's the case, and Bush's crowd openly show their contempt for liberals, how does that make HIM a liberal? In other words, if he IS really a liberal and the Democrats hate him anyway, doesn't that prove once and for all that our so-called 2 party system is a big fraud and just a show put on for the electorate to divide us to where the voters are actually of no concern to anyone in government today?

But let's take the "big government" point. Since openly advocating bigger government is a recent Republican shift from their long-stated policies against it, as well as the support he has lost from many mainstream Republicans because of it, doesn't that policy change indicate Bush doesn't represent the core of the Republican party? That's my point, that either he is a Republican in name only and ought to go shopping for another party name, or ALL the Republicans ought to just admit they now think like Democrats and shut up about being tarred with the same brush as the liberals.

My feeling is unchanged, and Bush and his followers are radical right and should be recognized as such. Of course I would prefer if he DID represent the mainstream Republican Party, as that would reinforce what a lot of us have been saying for a long time, that there is almost no difference between the two parties, and it's time to start shopping for new leadership that doesn't represent EITHER the Democrats or Republicans, because whether it's Bush or Kerry this time it won't amount to a big difference in any case.

Well, I'm sorry you can't see the truth. Open borders, abortion on demand, gun control, total information awareness, campaign finance reform, shredding the constitution, homeland "security", most favored nation trade status to Communists China, selling nuclear reactors to NK, expanding CPS and other criminal federal agencies, signing on to UNESCO whose founders proclaimed that "the family is a disease and must be destroyed" (Clinton couldn't pull that one off), faith-based initiatives, and belonging to The Bohemian Club and The Order of Death is not my idea of a"radical right wing" conservative.

No explanation necessary, as I was already aware of this. I only wish more people would see this.

Naturally Bush doesn't wish to come across as that, and he doesn't SEEM like a very radical man, but his actions and the actions of those who follow him put the lie to that. The fact that Bush is the standard bearer for mhis party, the Commander in Chief, and the President of the whole country means the buck stops with HIM. Radical is as radical does...not as he says.
