It is clear that it is okay to insult religious believers on Volconvo, jsut today I WE were insulted (I.E. if you believe in God, Jesus or the like) You are suffering a mental disorder.

This is now acceptable on Volconvo, I say this because a Super Mod made the comment I walked into it by merely mentioning Jesus.

I vote we remove religion from the forum title, since posting or mentioning Religion in a favoriable manner just means you open yourself up for insults. After all, you walked into it right?

Taking religious positions or explaining religious ideals and discussing religion in general as long as it's not hurtful or ment to be is alright... Basicly if I ask you your optinion on jesus, and you give it to me thats cool... if I mention that jesus was the one true god... he hates such and such and pushinshs them... and this is the best way to be... that sorta thing... it's just opening up a heuge can of worms. I am also rather certain that it wasn't taken to that extream... unless of course you really are... Iwould love to see the context that mential disorder was in...

hey, I think that the concept of religion is a good means for hope, but look around you. I only get mad when people use religion as the indisputable truth and use it to prove their point.

Just because you have faith does not give you a reason to ignore reality.

Not mental illness, but we all have mental blocks of one kind or another if we were to look and care. We smoke, we overeat, we don't exercise enough, we get impatient in checkout lines, we yell at our kids. You know. Not major stuff, but for most people religion is not a major thing. But you know as well as everyone else, that if someone says:

"I would love my children just the same but I would urge them to seek Jesus"

And your response is:

"I wouldn't inflict that little mental disorder on anyone"

Your only intention is to INSULT. Such a comment doesn't add to the discussion nor does it bring anyhting other then hate to a thread.

You cannot make a reasonable claim otherwise.

No, the purpose was to contrast the two ideas and your reaction to them. You would fear it if your children did something as normal as being homosexual, but you would inflict them with irrational fantasies.

You are wrong in your assessment of religion, and the fact you feel you have the right to insult others is a sad mark on Volconvo's moderating team.

Some of feel the same way about homosexuality as you do about religion, that doesn't give us the right to insult homosexuals as you do religious believers, what makes you so special?

But there is, so your point is moot. This is a thread about one posters' view of what can be classed as an insult by another poster, who's views on religion are well known and well-documented throughout the site.

Personally, I think they should both stick each other on ignore - otherwise this will re-surface time and time again.

Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route?
