It wouldn't be so bad if you'd add anything at all to any subject, but you don't. That's all you do is start moronic threads and leave them when people expect you to act in an intelligent manner.

| BANNED-Warned multiple times about instigating. User then reported topics multiple times to mess with staff. Posts: 4,412 | Well, delusions are a hard thing to see. I think we all have them to some degree, so I don't think it's a slam to anyone to say that they exist. I am not of low intelligence or less of a human because I hang on to my delusions. That doesn't mean that we don't treat insane ideas and insane behavior accordingly. I can't fault anyone for hanging on to their delusions just because I tell them their delusions. Schools, for instance, are not a place to learn to think, but a place to learn to respect insanities like religion and jingoism. Where do we learn to think then, the corporate media? How do we call someone an idiot for behaving in ways that they're taught to behave or thinking in ways that they're taught to think? I am no better. I'm not here to bash, but to learn. |

However, schools do not solely teach you to respect others, and their "insane" beliefs. Schools also teach you to count, read and write, thus enabling you to learn later in life. Without all of these things, it is impossible to convey your thoughts to others in what may call a coherent manner. It is impossible to debate with others on certain issues. Of course, there are other forms of expression such as art, which are almost automatic, and which do not really need to be learnt, but the fact remains that schools teach us how it get along later in life. If you do not respect others, they will not respect you. I trust that, although you disagree with people on this forum, you at least respect some, if not all of them. It is crucial that people respect others and their beliefs, simply because they want to be heard. If you do not respect others, people can smply dismiss you out of hand, because you aren't polite, or nice. Now, i must say that that is the image society has decided to create, that everyone must be polite, etc. and i am against conformity because everyone has the right to be different, but sometimes you have to accept certain constraints in order to be heard. Also, you cannot call beliefs insanities, because everything revolves around belief. You believe that their beliefs are insanities, you believe i am a real person somewhere typing all of this up, but you have no proof whatsoever. You can only believe. Thus, if you call them insanities, then you yourself are insane, through logical deduction, because you use insanities to form the world around you. You believe that what you see is the truth, you believe that what you touch is there, but it might not be. You just can never be sure of anything. You can only believe that this or that is true, and base you thoughts upon such beliefs. I can respect people while understanding their ideas are insane. I used to be a smoker. Smoking is insane. It is destructive, with no constructive components. Heroin has more going for it than cigarettes, yet I smoked. I knew that. That was insane. That does not make me an idiot, nor does it mean that I don't respect that person that was me. I understand that everyone does the best they can with what they know. My message is not to tell Vicchio he is an idiot. My message is to tell Vicchio that he isn't. My message is to tell him he is worth more than he thinks he is. He doesn't need to accept his insanities. He can grow beyond them, and I can grow beyond mine. There is no disrespect in my messages about that. Sometimes I let my insane ideas about anger color what I say to Vicchio, but the basic message is the same. I respect him. I work to understand him. He supports criminals. He holds insane ideas, like talking to mythical dead people. In understanding all of that, I hope to understand myself. None of that requires "belief." It only requires thought.

We can only try and change it so it becomes the least biased possible, which is one of the reasons why in French schools, talk of religion and politics between students and teachers is forbidden, except in outside school activites, or other clubs. Even in Philosophy, it is not allowed, which is saying something... | Logic Via Reality Posts: 653 | Because you assume something absurd and I blow it off, it becomes a reflection of inability on my part? Why don't you prove what you say? You crucify people here for their religious beliefs and then come on to play reversals to vilify me by creating strawman arguments? You BELIEVE I am someone else, you have no proof, you have nothing to back yourself, yet everyone else is a wingnut. Yea, you're sharp as a cue ball, I'll give you that. I didn't say anything about strawmen, either, so I'm not exactly sure what's up. Just a question.

I propose you guys settle this by either: (1) Join hands in a circle while high on payote and sing Kumbiah or (2) Duel... with herrings. If that dosen't work, build a shrubbery and chop down a tree with the used herrings. Either way, we get pretty good amusement value out of it. I never lied about Chomsky, you have you head shoved so far up his intellectual ASS you can't see strait. You lap up the lies of ZMAG like a kitten with a saucer of milk. I gave UP trying to prove anypoint with you because you play a rather SIMPLE game but it took me a few to figure out what you were doing. You challange some one to prove you wrong. They find XX to discount you. You then say "But my source (I.E> Chomsky, Z-Mag what ever is being challanged) says so you are wrong" You refuse to listen accept or hear the others point, you just twist the debate back claim you are right the other person is wrong... with nothing to support your claims but the words of those you are defending. Then you wait till someone has you in a corner and make posts like this, as if it somehow carries any wieght with long time posters that know your little game. Nice Try Gorgo. Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route?

Are you having trouble understanding or are you just acting the coward? You made a pointed accusation of which I deny infatically. I asked you to back it up, you cannot, you will not. Nice playing, try again, thanks. George Bush kicks ass and takes names in 2005!!
