![]() Throbbing Member Location: Old Europe Posts: 7,134 | Yo Vicchio!!!!!!!!!!!! Mr Vicchio: "Wow, the French did something bold and didn't fold?" Uh, speaking of "folding", Vicchio, I have a question for you. In countless posts on this board prior to your latest disappearance, you fervently defended Bush's war in Iraq. At the time you were employed by the US Navy. Challenged to put your money where your mouth was and to risk your own ass in Iraq, you declared that you would like nothing better but, unfortunately, your superior officers wouldn't let you go because they needed you where you were. (Other members will recall you expressing your personal commitment in this manner, so don't deny it. I could also look up the post in question.) What puzzles me is that, now that you're out of the Navy, you haven't remustered into the Army or Marines and gone off to realize this cherished wish of yours. Mind telling us why? | Navy Veteran Location: Texas Posts: 6,335 | I see. So this is how it is. I do 10 YEARS of my life in service to this country, and smart ass cowards like you guys, who do NOTHING other than post on a FORUM can bust my CHOPS? I think not. My wife has a 35k a year job, I am able to see my children, ya know, the main reason I LEFT THE NAVY, my KIDS. You may not recall that but that's what it is,. I make about 24k a year and I am trying to sell a screen play and am working on several other projects, I am VERY close to getting my break and if I do.. no Army for me. We'll see which happens first. AT least I served, did my time, and did so HONORABLY. What have you done with your life? Aside posted on a forum, coward? Have you moved form this evil country you hate so much? Have you joined a "Revolution" to change what you hate? Have you put your ASS on the line EVER to show your beliefs? No I thought not. I have, so why don't you two Forum trolls go get a life? Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route? |

| Navy Veteran Location: Texas Posts: 6,335 | And? I could care less where he lives. Bust my chops cause I didn't go sign up for the Army the day I left the Navy? I left to be near my KIDS, whom my ex took from me, I left and have given my wife now a chance to make something of her life, a chance to have a job and put her degree to work, and it's paying off. I've done something with my life, I believe in America, and the military, and I served TEN YEARS, I don't need some punks giving me crap. | moderat-e/o-r Location: boston Posts: 11,184 | of course, i don't believe in defending the empire by starting unnecessary wars. i believe in america, not empire, not defending the corrupt corporatist scumbags who run this country. i'd never become their pawn to use and abuse - which is exactly what is happening to those who are currently in the service. and, since i was making over 35k/year before graduating college, joining up to be some corrupt president's pawn was hardly economically appealing to me. but, if this war truly is so important, i'd think uncle sam would welcome such an experienced and "patriotic" vet back into the fold with genuine glee. |

Unfortunately service does not give you immunity from people attacking your debate style, opinions, etc... especially seeing as you've decided to state your opinions publicly on a debate forum. Further more I don't believe not serving in the military makes me some sort of coward (not that you said that). Now as an American I do thank you for putting in your time there, so people like me who cannot serve (and have no real interest in serving in this particular conflict) don't have too; Furthermore I will say that I disagree with a thread that was started for more or less the purpose of attack the opinions of another member, but if the mods don't find a problem with the thread there is little that matters. Either way, thats my 2 cents on the matter, other than the coward statement I don't care much to refute a serviceman's opinions, from my experience we both seem to look at the same problem from different perspectives, and there's nothing wrong with that. | |

| Navy Veteran Location: Texas Posts: 6,335 | They can attack my debate style all they want too. I don't care about that. It's the "You support the war but you didn't sign up for the ARMY? you COWARD! You Hypocrit!" Now, if I never had done a day of military service... that's a legit complaint, but I have done my time. And that's where it gets really insulting, on a personal level. Where is the logic in that aside just making a lame personal attack? It's lame and par for the course at Volconvo. I took a loooong hiatus from these boards once before because of how.... narrow the minds are around here, now some of them are mods! scary stuff.
