HS Debate

I didn't like debate because of the structure and I don't have the ability to be on both sides of the issue or pretend that I am. I consider my side of the argument valid and the other, not as valid (aka wrong)

Yeah thanks, and I def. know how good it is to read fast, overload an opponent with evidence, and can ft alot more into your argument, i just had no idea LD did it, becasue we got to ASU and USC and Stanford etc, and usually nobody in LD reads fast But my friend in college reads fast for it.

I guess that's one of the skills debate tries to teach: being able to look at an issue from many sides. Of course, if you get radical in your perspective, your position may not be accepted by the judges. For instance, if you go around with a standard of "maximization of killing" or something like that, then you'll probably lose a round.

Yeah, and once you get used to the fast speaking and listening, it's not really much of a problem. However, if you've been out of practice for a bit of time like me, it might be harder to get back in.
