Two black head coaches in the superbowl

I am sure those who watch the NFL know that for the first time two black head coaches are in the super bowl. In my opinion,I see no great significance in this event, other then a fresh story for the media to sell.

Should I be impressed and excited? Why should we consider this an abnormal event?

Nah. When two women NFL coaches get into the Super Bowl, that will be a story. :)

I think that it is encouraging that it is essentially a non-event. To paraphrase Martin Luther King, "I dream of the day when our coaches are not judged by the color of their skin but by their win/loss record". We may be close to that day now.

I remember when there were no black QBs...

The fact that there are two African American coaches involved in the Superbowl is no more significant that two Caucasian coaches. This is simply media madness. I can't wait for the first Asian American coach.

I too, and the first Superbowl as well. Man are we getting old Pat. The fact that the African Americans are well represented in many sports today is a far cry from the 1950's. It was a long racially charged road, but it is a better world in organized sports today.
