| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,936 | My report for Feb 14th. New brands of birth control pills are being marketed, one has a "mint flavor". The democracy of Irag has set forth some new laws to crackdown of the violence in Bagdad. tens of thousands will be forced to leave their dwelling places because they have occupied houses unlawfully, the government of Irag claims. The government stated it will easedrop on phone calls and open mail at will to locate trouble makers. The government stated they will allow their police to search any house of vehicle at will. To expel, spy, and to crack down, a three fold plan to save the country. Much of the USA is being hard hit by super-dooper snow storms. The White House has sent out a memo to advise Republicans not to debate about the surge of troops in Irag, but to concentrate the debate so that it is about "radical Islamists" and not about how to win the war, or the funding of it. The USA is going to allow as many as 7000 people from Iraq to re-locate here in the USA. In Iran - 11 people were killed in a bombing targeting the military of Iran. Iran officals are blaming the US and England for supporting rebel groups in south-eastern Iran. President Bush makes more speeches about how Iran is providing bomb materials to the insurgents in Iraq. Mrs Clinton gives warning that President Bush must be stopped from attacking Iran without approval from Congress. President Bush stated he is only concerned about safeguarding our men in uniform and that is why he is making his anti-Iran speeches. Meanwhile peace talks with North Korea, conducted mostly by China, has resulted in a promise by North Korea to stop and remove their nuclear arms program. In exchange they will get oil at a cheap price and other embargos will cease, the USA will likewise fund aid to that stuggling country. They have been removed from the "axes of evil" list. A CIA contractor named David Passaro will be sent to jail for 8 years for beating to death a prisoner of war. His defense lawyers were not allowed by the court to subpona high ranking govenmental officals in an attempt to prove that he was following direct orders. The military is now willing to hire more people with criminal records, at about 65 percent more x-criminals being allowed to inlist as they lower the standards used in 2005. And yes, Anna Nicole Smith is still grabbing the headlines as her relatives and boy friends fight to where to burry her body. No one has told them that a dead person could care less where they are burried, but they each feel they want to do what she would want. In other words, who will get all her money. |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,936 | Feb. 15th House Speaker for Congress warns President Bush that he legally cannot direct attacks on Iran without permission from Congress. Yesterday Bush claimed that he is certian that high ranking authorites in Iran are busy supplying insurgents with hi-tech road side bombs. ( the evidence for this has not been made public ). President Bush has now admitted he told a lie about the government of Iran being involved relative to the bombs he thinks are being transported into Iraq from Iran. At least he said is he not "sure" about that anymore. His "backing down" was a rare and unexpected move. As cars got stranded for as long as 12 hours on a snow bound northeastern highway the National Guard had to come in with supplies of food and water for those stuck in their cars during that chilly event. A lot of airliners got stuck at snowbound airports while passingers waited for 9 hours without food to eat, as the airports and airliners were not prepared to deal with the hold up. Some people who fly a lot want Congress to create a bill of rights for those who use airliner transportation. It is now estimated that about 2 million people have moved out of Iraq due to the war, nearly half the total population now live in other countries. During a breafing Wensday President Bush refused to answer questions about if he will pardon Lewis Libby or not (if convicted). Two bills have been introduced to ban paperless voting machines. By Bill Nelson and Rush Holt. Anna Nicole Smith had a lot of "unsafe sex". Will the real father please stand up? That is my spin on the global news tonight, coming to you live from my basement studios. |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,936 | Feb 16, Snow conditions continue to move across many states, Colorado had zero visablity due to snow and high winds. More cloudy fronts are moving down from Alaska. Here in So California we enjoyed 80 degree weather with sunshine. Congress passed the often talked about non-binding resolution to protest the surge in troop levels for Irag. 17 Republicans sided with the Democrats with a yea vote. President Bush paid not attention to the votes or debate as he was busy doing other things, but he said he is still sending in more troops and they the rest will be deployed shortly. Republicans favoring the President and "no change in plans" reported that the resolution is all nonsense and said "lets vote on the real debate, will Congress fund the additional troops". Some Democrats are wavering on that stand because the troops will already in in Iraq by time they must vote to support them or not. Then President Bush could make a big deal about the unfunded troops in Iraq (at that time) and how our men in uniform are being effected by the no-funding vote, which might not play well with voters who favor supporting the troops. Bush will send in the troops (as I reported last month ) before Congress can vote on the funding issue as a binding resolution. All State Insurence wants to raise it rates by 12 percent for home insurence in California. Stating that earthquakes, fires, floods, and high winds are the reason - and that California is prone to all those problems. In California two police departments in the L.A. area are "investigating their self". One department is under internal investigation because police offices while on duty had accepted sexual favors from posititutes at known establishments they are in charge of monitoring. The Chief said it is not unlawful to accept free sex as long you do not pay for it, no law was broken. No evidence has yet to surface that the police gave their word they would protect the positutes from persecution if caught. Another department is in the hot seat for using too much force, uncalled for beatings, using langwage that is insulting and rasist in context, and for impounding too many cars. The race targeted by the police is the Mexican-Americans - some of whom are gang members. 26 Americans will be tried for the CIA kidnapping of Muslim cleric in Milan. The trial of the CIA agents will be conducted in Italy. President Bush annoucnced he will be asking Congress for 11.8 billion dollars to fund the war in Afganistan as he is going to order in more troops to "save that Democracy" from common enemys. Not sure if that funding request will be tagged onto the request for Irag funding or not. Bush will be asking Congress for one hundred billion dollars to fund the on-going battles in Irag. Big Brother looses in court and the NYPD was told by a Federal Judge that they can no longer tape record portesters at political events. 1000 students from UC Santa Barbara blocked traffic on a freeway to protest the war in Irag, and at other locations throughout the nation collage and high school students conducted a walk out to protest the war - that was yesterday. That is the global news as I spin it for today. By the way it is now time to take part in the great bird watching day event. Your mission is to count the birds in your back yard ( and note what kind they are ). I went out and noticed that the neighbors cat had killed a tiny red headed flinch, So they can lower the count by "1". For details see link provided... Great Backyard Bird Count Homepage |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,936 | Namguy - That is true, when I first started posting here we had lots of people supporting Bush and supporting the Iraq war. Now it is had to find anyone who is a big supporter of President Bush posting here. But Republicans are still not in favor of supporting Democrats. Mrs Clinton started off as a Republican and was involved with the Berry Goldwater for President elections. But later she switched parties and became a Democrat. But few people do switch parties. By the way folks I normally do not "do the news" on weekends, and that included Monday which was a holiday, Presidents Day "four day weekend". I get to take all the vacations because I am not paid by anyone to do my spin of the global news. |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,936 | Nearly all the Republicans and Democrats supported President Bush when he reported to have proof that Saddam was a few months away from having a nuclear bomb (that could be transported in a suitcase into the USA). They were also shown footage taken by a spyplane that suggested Saddam had his moble nuclear lab which he would keep out of the site of U.N. inspection personel. And they claimed to have evidence that he had a network of underground caves where they could hide those WMDs, which network was under his house, and that they had "top secret" proof that Saddam had contracted with China to build those underground facilities. (Saddam had managed to make his personal house off limits to UN inspectors). Bush claimed that the UN inspectors were moving too slow and that Saddam was too skilled at hiding his weapons of mass distruction. And that it was urgent that we move ASP in removing that clear and present threat. Then Blair from England reported that they had uncovered documents where China had sold Saddam the items needed to make nuclear arms. Meanwhile Washington sources had totally flooded the news media with bad images of Saddam waving a gun, and footage of his brother misstreating someone (making the guy swim after ducks that they had shot down in a river), and films of sites they claimed were mass graves for the Kurds that were killed during one of their civil wars (thus linking Saddam with our images of HItler and the mass graves found in Germany). And they reported that a "top aid" of Bin Laden was in Iraq (getting medical treatment). By time they aired those films over and over on TV nearly everyone in Ameirca hated Saddam and saw him as being a ruthless and mean dictator of a radical government. Because of the false information and along with the films (which might have been for real) the Congress voted to give Bush permission to attack. They did not know at that moment that President Bush was relating false information that had been collected by the Vice President and Blair. Although the left wing media was reporting that the data Bush was using was unconfirmed or false, none of the Washington people were listening to those news sources. (with possible exception of Obana?). The fear that a terroist mgiht use a nuclear bomb within the USA was a powerful motivation to to vote yes to giving Bush the greeen light to stop Saddam (as they did not know Bush or his staff was preaching falsehoods). Another reason Congress voted yes was because our government knew about Bin Laden and that he was planning a holy war on the USA before 9-11 but we did little to stop him ( Clinton distroyed one terrorist training camp - but that was all that was done). And so Americans did not want Congress to make the same misstake with Saddam that we had with Bin Laden. So that is why most people supported President Bush back then, but slowly had to change their minds when at last the truth came out that Bush and/or his team (Vice President) had created false reasons to attack Irag. And the full story about the Halliburton influence has still not come to the surface in mainstream news coverage. Had Hillary and other Americans known what is now known, they would have voted "no" to a war on Irag. |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,936 | News Feb 20. Last year the Republcan Congress passed a law giving President Bush authority to deploy active duty military troops to take action on American Soil if the President announces that Martial Law is needed to deal with rebellion, panic, terrorist attacks, natural disasters, or other chaotic sistuations. He can also deploy the National Guard to effect Martial Law. That little noticed law was passed without a hearing. The news media is now noticing that such a law was passed as a couple of congressmen are now attempting to have it repealed. Robert Gates confessed that two military ships are entering the Persian Gulf as a warning to Iran. The ships carry mititary aircraft. The UN has set a deadline for Feb 21 (tomorrow by my watch) for suspending their nuclear enrichment plant. Iran has refused to conform. Meanwhile USA military plans were leaked through the BCC news that we would bomb different sites inside Iran (if need be). The sites would be nuclear sites, military sites, and their "control-centers". No news if bombing nuclear sites would create nuclear polution to happen or who all would be effected by the fallout. No mention if this would be a "first strike" or only if they attack us. Congress it seems has not been kept "in the loop" about those events. Presidential hopeful Obana is here in California on fund raising trip. The local (NBC) station nicknamed him "the rock star of politics". They showed film clip of him speaking while walking up and down on an elevated stage while people in the crowd cheered him on. The Preacher of Politics announced that he would transform America into a better place then it is today. "That is what this election is all about" he said " the need for change". A local reporter then did a Q & A with those in attendance and the fans said (1) He is going to make America better and I believe in him. (2) He has given me new faith in politics. (3) He has inspired me with new hope. (4) He seems like a nice guy. Mrs Clinton is expected to be in California next week. Rain and snow is sweeping across mid california and will be heading eastward. The Supreme Court ruled that prisoners of war being held outside of the USA cannot use our courts to seek a trial (to try to prove they were captured in error). A few members in Congress want to pass a bill so that the Supreme Court can reverse that consitutional finding. Bagdad remains unsecured as raid on one of our millitary bases killed 10. Britian will annonce that it will pull its remaining troops out of Irag, thousands will leave in a few weeks, the few left will be gone by the end of the year. They currently control the Southern area of Irag. The Vice President is making a tour to get Japan or another country to send more troops to help us out, but it is not likely they will agree. Rice was in Israel to oversee peace talks but no solutions were adopted by ether side. They did agree to "talk again" at a later date. (perhaps after we get a President who does not just favor the Israel point of view?). |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,936 | Obana hired someone to help run his election bid and that person started in wiht the dirty politics and mud slinging antics towards canadate Mrs Clinton. Obana reported that how his employee feels about the Clintons personally has nothing to do with the elections. He refused to denonce what his election director said. Mrs Clinton suggest that they both concentrate on what they each have to offer the voters and not devide the Democratic party. Using the old line "self distructive politics". Meanwhile Mrs Clinton is kept on the defensive by reporters concerning the sex-scandle of Mr Clinton and because she voted yes to give Bush authority to war with Iraq if Saddam violated U.N. resolutions. The UN never said that Saddam was in violation before Bush rushed into war while not leaving the UN time to finish their inspections and full report about Saddam's innocense (concerning WMDs). So Mrs Clinton is kept busy fielding questions about topics that have nothing to do with her platform ideas. Iran agreed to shut down their nuclear enrichment program to gain plants for electric power if everyone in the world agrees to shut down their nuclear power plants., They also agreed to show on-going proof that the do not intend to make nuclear weapons, The Bush White House called those words "false". (being that they are experts when it comes to false speaking they should know). Meanwhile the trial about Anna Smith hogged up most of the regular news as the judge hams it up for the boob tube (he has made applications to have his own TV show like Judge Judy). Michael Mixon is a Republican National Congressional Committee "inner circle member for life" and he is a member of the White House Bussiness Advisory Committee. He is also accused of transferring one hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars to a training campe in Afganistan where anti-Ameircan insurgents (terrorists) lean how to make bombs and so forth. The New York man has pleaded "not guilty" to those charges. The suspect, also known as Abdul Alishtari, was likewise a major doner of large funds of money to the Republican Party. The trial should be interesting. The Justice Department Inspector General has reported that the Bush White House has missled the public concerning stats on cases involving terrorism and how they "prevented terrorism" by bring them to justice. Just two out of twenty six cases acturally involved terrorist related trials. He said that hundreds of cases having to do with drugs, immigration, and marrage-fraud were wrongly included in the stats. Brit cut off all her hair and showed off her naked head - what gives with that? Apprently she is having emotional and mental problems due to her recent marrage break-up, her trust in love bashed, she turned to drugs and is now looking for the right rehab center. We hope she makes it okay and give her our best wishes, perhaps she should do some "torch songs" or get down with the blues in her next CD. That is my spin on the world news for tonight. Thanks for taking a peak. |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,936 | Following the example of England 500 troops from Denmark will also be pulled out of Iraq. As you might know England was controlling the south end of Irag next door to Iran. That pull out could not have come at a better time if Israel carries out its threat to bomb nuclear sites in Iran (as a first strike measure to insure they cannot gain nuclear weapons). There is a very good chance that Israel will attack Iran as many of their leaders are calling for that action now that Iran has announced that it plan to expand their neclear program and that they did not conform to the dealine set by the U.N. As they bomb the many nuclear sites under construction it would not be wise for England to have their troops posted only miles away form such attacks. The USA has two aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf and have vowed to protect Israel from all their enemies. Clearly Iran could strike back at Israel as well as other nations that might then side with Iran. It is assumed but not made public that Israel has nuclear bombs and that represents a major concern for all Muslem nations (also). Tony Snow was once an anchor on Fox news and now he has given front row seats to the Fox network (which includes CNN) and sending Helen Thomas to the 2nd row, she has had a front seat news pass since Kennedy was in office. Oh yeah, Tony Snow is now the White House News Secretary. So that will change the landscape of the White House press room. We now have detention centers where immigrant families are held awaiting for deportation (after being rounded up). The Lutheran immigrant and refugee services has reported that sometimes children are being seperated from their parents and are denied medical care, food, and education. These prision like conditions came to their attention following a report by a federal investigation of 5 detention centers (aka - para-concentration camps). The Vice President spoke out about the withdraw of troops by England today when he was in Japan, saying that the Ameircan people will not support our withdraw until the mission is completed and we can return home with honor. Observers of this event wondered why England did not transfer some troops to Bagdad so we can wrap up security problems there, but it is clear that the people of England want no more to do with what has become known as "President Bush's War" and Blair has listened to the people and announced massive troop removals. That is the global news as I spin it. More rain and snow heading eastward from California. |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,936 | Feb 23 - more news from the basement reporter. The new x-ray machines are being installed in some major airports so that security guards can check for unlawful items that might be hid under colthing, as a mandatory check to get on an airplane. They can also see details about your body when they look through your cloths with the machine scan. Like what your tits or penis looks like. Even if you are in drag. This has alarmed a lot of religious people who feel that they should not be made to appear naked before x-ray cameras in order to use public airplanes. Lead bullets have been banned at one hunting location north of L.A. California. The reason being is that Condors, and endangered bird, can get lead poisoning and die from eating the dead remains of animals shot for sport. The anit-gun control organization has made no comment about the ruling because the owner of the ranch where hunters are allowed has agreed to the new law. Democrats have dropped the plan to not fund the new troops being sent to Irag by President Bush. They have started debates to repeal the 2002 resolution that authorized President Bush to got to war with Irag. The binding resolution will state that troops must be returned home by May of next year. The UK will send another 100.000 troops to Afganistan because insurgency in that country is gaining more power. The USA occupation of Afganistan is being compared to the attempted take over by Russia - within the ranks of that insurgency. IAEA report that was released following inspections in Iran has shown that their nuclear activities are clearly for peaceful reasons. And the report has revealed that much of the information presented by the Bush White House about Iran's nuclear program is false. As reported in the Guardian. The private military-secuirty company "Blackwater USA" has announced it is opening a private company simular to that of the CIA. And has hired former CIA people to work there. The new company will offer other private companies "information gathering" services on a wide range of interests. The company will be set up to monitor environmentalists, civil unrest (protest groups), world wide technology, economic stability, and terrorism. The company advertises a 24/7 "intelligence fusion and warning" center for it's paying clients. Joseph Liebeman is thinking about changing from being an independant to actually joining the Republican Party, according to his latest interview. Perhaps in time to run for President on that ticket? His reason is that the Democrats do not support the war in Iraq. The IRS has announced that many people are paying too much tax because they do not request refunds for items that they could deduct. The rebates are not automatic and you must know what they are and file a request to deduct those items. Conservatives are alarmed because so many Hollywood actors and music artists are having children outside of wedlock and raising children in broken homes, and is accepted as "cool" because the role models are popular stars, which have influenced teenagers everywhere. Anna Smith apparently had unprotected sex with lots of men, and was filmed making out with the doctor who prescribed her with addictive drugs. No one knows who the papa of her child is because she had so many lovers. And yet the weaping judge treated her like an angel who should be buried according to her wishes. Instead of as an drugged whore who spent lots of money to party down and making babies in a immoral manner. Robert Gates visited Water Reed hospital and announced that improvements will be made, the hospital treats our troops that return for Irag that were injured fighting in Iraq and other places. This followed a number of reports aired on news stations about the run-down conditions of that facility. Had the Washing Post not have began the news momentum about the poor conditions of that hospital the injured Army personel would still be suffering under those conditions, with rats and cockroaches in the rooms where they are housed while being treated. That is the world news as I spin it. You are allowed to comment about the news stories as this is not a blog. |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,936 | The Mrs part is being questioned as it seems that the marrage might not have been conducted legally. The whole thing is nuts. A dead person cannot care or know anything about where they are buried. So it matters not in a realistic sense. I matters only to her next of kin. Perhaps her mother and her x-close friend would even bother to visit the grave site in the future. The rest are more concerned with the millions of dollars which she got from that rich guy. How about Anna "Wealthy Drug Clown Whore" Smith. who's very husband allowed her to party down with her doctor and who knows what else? Now you might think that it is wrong to say bad things about someone when they are dead (but not yet in the grave) - but hey! Those are her wishes, the limelight that she loved so much when still alive and sometimes conscious. Due to all the court battles that lay ahead, she will probally be in the limelight for years to come. And to think - they dared to call it "Reality TV". |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,936 | Monday Feb 26. President Bush is getting active preparing for his war on Iran. The air force is doing some mock training missions in the Persian Gulf. And Bush has asked for a plan that he could activate within 7 hours upon giving the command. The Vice President is promoting a potential war. But Mrs Bush said on Larry King show today that Iran wants to become a part of the rest of the world as a nation that is respected, and "I hope they can do that", she remarked. She also said "no one really wants war". The Lost Tomb of Jesus is getting attention from the news media which is the title of a film to be shown on the Discovery channel. This is the 2nd or 3rd film Discovery has shown that casts doubts on the historical story written about in the Bible. The bones were quickly re-burried. The child's DNA collected as "trace evidence" matched that of one of the women durried in the same grave. Why the whole family died at the same time and were burried together is the big mystery, no matter whom they were in real life. The film about the tomb will air March 4th (Sunday). Christians feel the film is just a lot of hype about nothing. If the discovery explored by the film is true then and it is the tomb of the Jesus spoken about in the Bible then it would void many of the ideas advocated by Christians. But if they film fails to present enough facts to prove it's case then it will just remain a highly dedated topic that can never be resolved. The film makers say they are only presenting the known evidence and then "asking the question". Meaning they apparently are waiting for additional support for the answer. Israel has asked permission to fly over Irag if they attack Iran and premission was granted. That airspace is now controlled by the USA. Al Gore won Oscar for his film on Global Warming. Those were the only news topics I found interesting today. And so, that is the world news as I spin it. |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,936 | Feb 27 Tuesday. After the Vice President left Pakistan the Pakistani President issued a statement saying "Pakistan does not accept dictation from any side or any source". The V.P. was attempting to press Pakistan to show results in fighting the A-Q who might have training camps set up in the isolated areas of Pakistan boardering Afganistan. Apparently when the Vice President got tough he failed to intimadate Pakistan. Irag apporved new law to open up it's oil fields to forien countires but the profits must be shared with the citizens of Iraq. Not sure what all this will mean relative to forien companies managing the oil fields, and if this means Haliburton is going to do it or another company. Not sure how President Bush feels about this new plan to introduce socialism in Irag. General Peter Pace warned Congress that the USA military would not be able to quickly and fully respond to another war emergency, such as with Iran, because of the strain put on them by the on-going wars in Afganistan and Iraq. General Pace is the nations top military officer. The Brookings Insitute reported that Irag has about 180 insurgency or military attacks each day, targeting the USA forces and other groups. Researches a John Hopkins insitute have estimated that about 655.000 Iragis have died so far because of the invasion and occupation conflicts in Irag. A USA military raid in southern Irag has uncovered a bomb making factory where the "advanced road side bombs" ( called EFPs) were manufactured, the same bombs that the Bush White House blamed on Iran. Not sure why Britan never discovered the factory when they had their troops providing security to that area. The factory was found in a small town called Jedidah. This story was first reported in the Wall Street Journal. The Justice Department has opened a new prison in Indiana for Arab Muslem prisoners, with rules that conversations must be conducted in English. A number of people who were newsworthy in the past are now being held at that location. This story broke in the Washington Post. CNN has been reporting that major insurence companies are refusing to pay off claims submitted by accident victims, as a means to enlarge their profits. All State and State Farm companies were named. A group called "Human Rights Watch" is demanding that the CIA and the Bush White House reveal where their secret prisons are located at in other countries. Reports are starting to surface that people are being misstreated and tortured in those secret prisons, one of which is located in Afganistan. According to findings reported by the H.R.W. organizaton, basied on interviews. A 50 year old Palistanian was shot and killed by the Israel military when he walked down the street after curfew. This week a high-level deligation from Israel is in Washington to press President Bush to give Israel more military aid. They presently only get $2.4 Billion dollars each year, which they claim is not enough. (your tax money at work). The governors of five western states are planning to work together to do something about greenhouse gasses. Meanwhile 60 countries will be meeting to talk about Global Warming and what can be done, due to the melting of ice caps at the North and South poles - the meet is nicked named " Polar Year". The USA will take part. 68 co-sponsors have signed on so far to pass a new bill to lift restrictions for Americans to visit Cuba. The new Bill was introduced by Democrat Rangel and Republican Flake. It is expected to pass. The Moscow Times has reported that Moscow supports a unified government in Palistinian areas and will work to lift the USA embargo. That is the global news as I spin it. |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,936 | I had a nice weekend off but now I am back at the news desk with my reviews for Monday Feb 5. NBC did a pro-Bush news story from Irag and here is what I got out of that report. The troops making up the "new surge" were patrolling ghost towns because those who are combatants moved out ahead of the highly advertised move to police certian neighborhoods. They found a lot of empty dwelling places while a few non-combatants remained behind. However in other locations of Bagdad the violence continues, about 38 people were killed in one car bombing incident. The combatants who were in the areas now being policed are still "somewhere and are waiting" for a chance to return. This means that our troops must remain there for a very long time in this new "waiting war" tactic otherwise the whole project is pointless. The troops are coming with cash in hand which they are giving away to the people who dwell in the troubled areas that they wish to control, the money is being provided so the people can rebuild a house or building that had been distroyed due to the war. Those people are happy that our troops are there and when interviewd they said "we hope the Americans remain here for a long time". The Walter Reed Hospital was in the news because of poor conditions, red tape, and in some cases - poor doctoring of Vets. The reason is that the Army had privatized the hospital which now is owned by Haliburton which had set up a sub-company called "IAP Worldwide Services". The Vice President was once the CEO of that company. When Halliburton took over running the hospital a number of the best doctors left and had to be replaced by other, less talented staff. Under the supervision of Haliburton some of the buildings used for Vet housing were not upkept and fell short of sanitary and safety conditions. Some Democrats have vowed to investigate the matter. Both Democratic canadates were in Alabama for the 42 annerversary of "Blood Sunday" and gave speeches about Black America. Obana said "It's the responsibilty of the Joshua generation to make sure that our government is responsive to the needs that still exist in America" and he added "Ask not only what your government can do for you, but what you can do for your self". Mrs Clinton said "They say that Blood Sunday is for the history books, but how can we say that everything is fine when over 96,000 or our citizens, the victims of Katrina, are still living in trailers and mobel homes - which is a national disgrace of everything we stand for in America". (most of the homeless of the hurricane Katrina are African American). Her husband was by her side during that speech. In spite of warning Iran not to develope nuclear power the Bush White House has announced plans to build "a new generation of nuclear warheads" to replace the older ones. We now have about 6000 nuclear warheads in stock and so the replacement of those bombs is a major project. The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory was selected to start designing and building the new nuclear bombs. Democratic Sen. Feinstein has voiced her protest of that project. In Russia 100 people who were protesting the roll back of democarcy in Russia were clubbed by police and arrested. President Bush will be touring South America soon and already protesters living there are getting ready to boo him out. The Protesters say " he has only done damage to our country, taking away our resources and by misstreating migrants". The U.S. government is presently holding 200 children at the Hutto jail in Texas where mostly migrants are detained. One boy is from Canada which is his home country where he was born, his name is Kevin and when interviewd at jail he said "I just want to be free so I can return to my home in Canada, and so I can go back to school". His parents are of Iranian nationality. The government in Canada is pressing for his release. The Vice President has blood clogging in his leg, he will not be getting treated at the Haliburton run Walter Reed hospital as he can afford better doctors. That is the global news as I spin it. Thanks for droping down to the basement for a peak. |
