I only listed islands with mountainous terrain, and islands that have some altitude, not just those little reefs that barely stick out of the water. Either way, I think I'd rather pit myself against nature, than with the corrupt governments people have created to rule over us. At least if the earth swallows me up, I can chuckle at the irony of it all, rather han spend my days looking over my shoulder so I can defend myself from all the liars, and thieves. Yeah, that stable climate beckons, even if it were only San Diego, or some other more stable environment that I have here, I still want to see how my body would react to heat without the periodic freeze out every trip around the Sun. | |

| Logical Phallussy Location: In your internets. Posts: 2,991 | There aren't too many places I'd rather live than where I am right now. I live on the East coast of Florida, in a town called Melbourne. It's only 15 minutes away from the beach and 45 minutes away from Orlando. Jacksonville and Miami are about 2 and 3 hours away, respectively. The weather's beautiful (most of the time!), the people are friendly, and there isn't a shortage of things to do. In fact, the only times I haven't gone out over the weekend have been when I wanted to stay at home. ![]() - Rob "I'd rather be free and alive!" -- Ron Paul Religion isn't the greatest threat to mankind -- authoritarianism is. Eh, the tropics should be a fairly stable environment even if the warming persists. Thats is where the bulk of the life was hiding during all thwe other warming, and cooling events, and the ice ages events throughout earths history. | |

| moderat-e/o-r Location: boston Posts: 11,184 | which tropics do you mean? the tropics in the carribean sure got a beating last summer, thanks to the hurricanes.. the only other tropics are hawaii, the philippines and a handful of relatively unknown and impoverished spots. with all these frightening changes in global weather lately, i wouldn't mind having a place in a warm spot during the winter, and living up, far north during the winter. |
