I think that bug chasers are crazy too. But I remember being unwell as a child and how I was looked after, how special I felt, how I got a lot of attention.

For people who are marginalised by society, who have never felt like they belonged. Being HIV positive can suddenly mean that they are a part of a group, they belong to the 'positive community'.

Just some thoughts....

The gay POZ community is a small minority within a small minority, not all that connected, and not that supportive in each person's life. There are also many AIDS hysterical folks within the gay community who like many here would NEVER date a Poz person. So to be removed from much of the larger gay community, to get very meager support within a Poz community is also a pretty crazed concept.

Would I? As I am happily married (and either virtuous or just too damn busy) the question doesn't apply directly to me. Neverthless, if I was single, I would want to presume that any partner I might have could be HIV positive, which is why I would want to practice safer sex regardless. So, the answer would have to be "yes".

I believe I have seen the movie in question Mai, I believe I saw it quite a few years ago in health and human devlopment, is one of the scenes after they had sex with the guy taking a shower and scrubbing himself almost to the bone?

I have considered this question, the orriginal question posted. I skipped over a lot of this thread I only read about two pages in. This would sound stupid, and in a way it very much is, but if there were a person who I met, and loved with every fiber of my being, self regard would go out the window. This would not be an exception on looks, I believe there is a person out there we are meant to be with, or atleast one person who fits us just right, in all the right places. If this girl ended up being HIV possitive from any number of sources, I would have little regard for that detail.

Stupid huh? I'm not saying I would be ignorant of the fact and deliberately place myself at risk, I am saying that the protection I use would be equivilant to any normal situation involving love making. Keep in mind that I say this based on the fact that the person who I believe out there right for me would obviously not have the personality enjoying certain things easily able to transmit HIV. for instance, a crack addict or heroin.

Even though there is considerable protection from HiV from blood transfusions there are still methods of becoming infected and the person can still be innocent of the danger.

No, there is a limit to feelings, fear of death, hate, anger. Sounds really stupid doesn't it? *sigh* I guess your right. but five years.. ten years.. twenty years? if you are certain, you KNOW would you be able to live until 80 knowing the one person who ever matched you died thirty to fourty years ago?
Sure you sleeping with that person won't change it, but the relationship you had was tainted, overcome over loomed by some thing else.

I would rather die young then live old with regrets like that.

That wasn't the one on the other night, but that scene you mention is familiar to me now that you mention it. And doesn't she find him doing that and get upset?

Why would one need to have sex with someone one loves? Sex is one of the best benefits of a relationship, but it is hardly the necessary foundation. If people are willing to overlook the risks in order to have sex, fine; I'm not.
Heh... you're what, 40? If there's no sex, it's not a relationship.

Tell that to all the frigid women and impotent men out there who are IN a "relationship". Tell that to the married quadriplegic, etc..
I think they'd beg to differ.

Of course, a relationship BASED on sex is a bit different but that's not the issue anyway.

Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots.

that's just as fucked up as the old german story of the guy who volunteered to be cannibalized.
He didn't volunteer, the guy who ate him was recruited, plus that german chap ate some fo his own penis, cooked rare apparently

Jeez, a little rigour (sorry) with the facts, please. The cannibal placed an ad looking for a young man "who wishes to be slaughtered" (see my post at the top of this page....).

I spent three years living in the same town as that creep. Kinda spooky when I think about it.

Other way around I thought, the chap who was eaten placed the advert did he not?

Yeah, he seems pretty well to me.

I didn't see any evidence that the victim was willing. That's even more bizzare than the killer.

Weird stuff.

Yes, I suppose there's not much hard evidence. But his claim doesn't defy imagination.

At the retrial, Meiwes renewed a detailed confession, telling the court his version of the grisly details of the March 2001 killing of Bernd Juergen Brandes at Meiwes' home in the central town of Rotenburg.

Meiwes said Brandes — who had traveled from Berlin after answering his Internet posting under the pseudonym "Franky" seeking a young man for "slaughter and consumption" — wanted to be stabbed to death after drinking a bottle of cold medicine to lose consciousness.
I mean, anyone shocked by this story can't have much experience with German cuisine. :)

I am watching a movie, in which there is an HIV positive woman. She meets a guy she likes, one assumes she's going to hold him off or tell him and he'll hold off.

Her friend tells him. He comes prepared with condom and tells her it's no big deal.

From a female standpoint, I cannot imagine this. But transmission is difficult from female to male, and perhaps you (mostly male pop. here) would feel safe from it?

If your answer is yes, would you for a one night stand? A woman you loved?
For a one night stand everyone should take precautions. Though I never indulge in this form of gratuitous self satisfaction.
For a Lady I loved and felt content to be with yes, unhesistantingly yes. I would also need to learn a lot more about the modes of transimission and how these can affect differing forms of foreplay and arousal. Until my Wife or Lover become HIV I have no need to learn these arts, perhaps the day will come till then I shall refrian :)

Oh, I would have to say no to this one. Protected? Why not. But unprotected, no. I wouldn't be able to risk my life like that. Really whoever has the HIV virus, if they loved the other person, shouldn't expect that.
