it's definitely nice that i took this week off of work - between ending the old job and starting the new one.. i'm glad i'm not starting the new job right in the middle of a heat wave.

school's gonna suck tonight though.. i just hope they have their a/c working, which isn't always the case.

finally cooled down tonight, thanks solely to the massive dark clouds that rolled in to block out the sun.. and tonight it will fortunately get cooler, rather than hotter (as was the case last night).

95 here as I just returned from the grocery store about a half-hour ago.

I had a hawk about as long as my forearm land on the fence next to the track where I was running about a week ago. Must have thought I looked like I was about to die.

boston made it on cnn today... people are dropping like flies on our subways (i'm sooo glad that i switched over to a new job and that i'm off this week).. some of the cars don't even have functioning air conditioning. stepping into a crowded car during rush hour is bad enough - let alone walking into one with no a/c or air circulation in general.. that is pure misery.

we also had some dumbassed pregnant lady die the other day.. this fool was about 7 months pregnant, watching a red sox game outside, in the triple digit heat, sitting in the bleachers section without any protection from the sun.. call me crazy, but a pregnant woman has no business being outside in that kind of situation..

we've also had some power outages in certain small pockets.

today's hopefully going to be the end of this latest wave.. tomorrow the temp over here's supposed to be 79.

It's a little cooler here in Ohio then it has been the last 4 days. I haven't checked but I hear it's in the mid 80's. Relief at last! I haven't recieved my bill yet. That's going to be a scary sight.
