You're a weenie, but a smart one. That's a bit much for a party.

Was this an outdoor affair?

Worse, in a warehouse (a computer recycling center-the owner was our primary instructor) with only ceiling fans, no A/C. Now you know why A/C was on my mind so much today.

Thanks for calling me a weenie. Now I'll just hang out until it shows up. (I'm so glad you didn't call me a cab.)

A college reunion in a warehouse? An official one?

Okay, you're a cab.

A warehouse, eh? What kind of party can you have in a sweltering building? Not a very enjoyable one, I'm betting. It'd be interesting to hear from anyone who showed up.

Short sad story. The college went bankrupt a year after we graduated. The warehouse is run by our primary (and favorite) instructor. He has a non-profit that supplies computers to low-income, senior and handicapped people. I guess not-for-profit means don't-waste-contributions-on-A/C. :(

A plant mister and a $3 battery powered fan really makes a difference. Try it.

i did put one of my fans in the living room here where i have my 12k btu a/c running.. it's enough to be able to sit moderately comfortably, but i can almost hear the hot air on the outside of the window... wispering like some unholy demon or something..

i'm one of those unfortunate people who are very susceptible to heat stroke... we were in the car and jaz rolled the window down a bit to have a smoke.. i made her put it out - the minute or so of steamy air was getting me dizzy.. probably didn't help that we partied like rockstars up in maine last night.

craziest thing i've been seeing are the people walking around in jeans - and some with both pants and long-sleeve shirts. saw some girl walking around in jeans and a heavy hooded sweatshirt.. started to sweat just looking at her.

kind of crazy how the temperature's increased as we've gone from daytime to evening to night..

hope for america...

You have two choices in life:
You can stay single and be miserable,
Or get married and wish you were dead.

If you can lower the humidity you may not risk heat stroke. If memory serves, high humidity makes it harder to cool down by sweating as the sweat doesn't evaporate as easily. This makes the body send more blood to the skin and less goes to the brain and organs. So anything to lower the humidity should help, even if the heat is up there.
