| Sedimentary Rock Posts: 5 | "emo" and/or "scene" kids What are you're thoughts on this new subculture? And myspace.com as well. Please keep this from a ignorant bashing session. As seen here: http://threads.rebelscum.com/showfla...part=1#1983332 |

![]() Gamma-ray burst Location: Nashville Posts: 6,403 | I started a myspace profile. I dont really see any point of it, except for maybe finding people you once knew. I find the page layouts and the background music and videos etc very lame and difficult to navigate. You have some myspace pages with 2 songs or a song and a video and they mesh together. |

| Molten Ash Location: NYC Posts: 106 | I have a myspace page as well, but I abandoned it a long time ago. At first I thought it would be an interesting way to meet new people, but it turned out it wasn't. Most of the people who wanted to be put on my friend list were people promoting bands or porn sites. I did reconnect with some old friends which was nice - until I realized we had grown apart and had nothing in common except memories. :( |

| Molten Ash Location: NYC Posts: 106 | Oh, and as far as emo kids....... First, I think they should smile more. Secondly, emo is the same as any fringe subculture -- in their effort to be different and stand apart from the rest of society, they all end up looking the same, thus becoming a parody of what they were fighting against in the first place. |

I haven't seen any Hollister kids. What is their deal? Hot Topic and YRB kids annoy me too. They think being "punk" is listening to Green Day and buying $50 chain and padlock necklaces with their daddy's credit card. They think they shopping at Hot Topic and YRB somehow makes them punk, yet commercial stores like those are the total opposite of the true anarchist and "DIY" spirit of punk.

| Paladin Location: Narnia Posts: 4,277 | I have always found it amusing that people gladly pay ridiculous amounts of money merely to provide the kind of advertising most businesses have to buy. If I'm going to be a walking billboard, it's not going to be for a clothing company. Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. -- Song 8:6 |

My thoughts exactly. I think we have more common ground than either of us would be comfortable admitting.

![]() Made of pure win. Posts: 3,795 | Myspace if fu**ing brilliant. Peer to peer messaging, blogging, pic hosting and other features for free along with browsing capability. It's amazing for dating & networking. Emo kids can drop dead. The little wannabe goth bastards have no style, no moxy, and are too melodramatic for their own good. "No one understands me so I shop at Hot Topic..." ----------- Did you hear the one about the emo pizza? Yeah: it cuts itself! lol |

![]() Away Location: Scotland, Central Lowlands Posts: 3,317 | While we’re on the subject of annoying Myspaces, don’t forget the ridiculously loud and intrusive music people insist on putting on them. And the music player’s always hidden at the bottom of the page so you have to scroll all the way down with some freaking emo band blaring at full volume before you can turn it off. God, Myspaces piss me off. |

| Molten Ash Location: Mercerville, NJ Posts: 29 | I have a myspace...its boring as hell. I saw a kid at school on there-and shes...pole dancing in her pictures? Point is that myspace is a place for friends and sexual predators. Yah Sexual predators! [/sarcasim] Goth kids have something wrong with them. Though I hate them to a fault-there are two breeds. The first breed is the kids who cuts him or herself for attention. The other breed is the kid who really has something wrong with them (I.E. Home life), and such. Its the second breed I give sympathy for. | blasphemer Location: Michigan Posts: 8,416 | Most goth kids aren't as pathetic or simple-minded as you people make them out to be. They just express themselves differently.
