Joy Purdy Reporting (CBS4 News) WEST PALM BEACH Sources have confirmed to CBS4 News that conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh has been detained at Palm Beach International Airport for the possible possession of illegal prescription drugs Monday evening. Limbaugh was returning on a flight from the Dominican Republic when officials found the drugs, among them Viagra. Limbaugh entered a plea deal back in April in a previous case where his charge of fraud to conceal information to obtain prescriptions was dropped under the condition he continue undergoing treatment for addiction. Limbaugh had admitted to being addicted to pain killers on his radio program and had entered a rehabilitation program prior to that arrest.

I know celebrities get all kinds of perks unavailable to us common folk, but this seems a bit shady. I'm not saying illegal, just shady, rife with the potential for abuse. If your medications appear to be prescribed to a doctor, or anyone not you, how would you prove they were actually yours?

I agree with Mr. V that this incident seems fairly innocent. But judging from Rush's apparent fondness for prescription drugs and his disdain for the rules we little people must live under, I have to wonder when he'll screw up and get caught with something he shouldn't have. I know I'm being petty, but everything about the guy really annoys me. The desire to see his ego deflated is strong.

Charges may go to the State Attorneys office. The issue isn't the nature of the drug, the issue is Limbaugh carrying a bottle labeled for someone else, when he is actually the person whom intends on using the drug. This could be a misdemeanor. Note gr8fuldaniel's post of Limbaughs condition it states: You will refrain from violation of any law.

It all depends on how the authorities wishes to handle the matter and if they wanted to, they could lean on the junkie pretty hard.
