Colbert, in my opinion, second only to Phil Hartman as one of the funniest comedians at poking holes in pop culture and the political and famous egos that keep it afloat....almost.

There seems to be something weird about this. You know, his charisma reminds me of a drill sergeant(seriously). Imagine he was just acting like he was roasting Bush? I mean, how the heck did he even get invited to the White House in the first place?

Good point. After the disasterous appearance by Don Imus at a Clinton function you would assume the material would be pre-screened. After all, the guy's show is a PARODY of right wing talkers.
If they wanted sure-fire jokes they could have booked Ann Coulter.
