I have mentioned my gender before many times... Oh, and good luck on finding a phoenix to kill...say, have you ever hunted snipe? | BANNED Posts: 2,630 | The founding fathers were very specific, WE THE PEOPLE meant white heterosexual adult males who owned property. No one else had any rights guaranteed, nor could they vote. There were exceptions for that heterosexual part, if they were secretive like Alexander Hamilton and George Washington they did get rights. ![]() |

And I'd tell them to tell their parents and the rest of the family to do the same. That is total bunk. | moderat-e/o-r Location: boston Posts: 11,184 | i'd go way back, maybe to ancient, enlightened greece.. bringing along weapons solely to convince the people that i was sent by the gods - as well as crates full of science books. instead of waiting centuries for electricity to be harnessed, i'd speed that process up big time. and then the present wouldn't be nearly as ripe with ignorance and superstition as it currently is - and who knows how much the science would evolve in the meantime... |

| Retired Posts: 7,312 | I guess I'm terribly self-absorbed. I thought the thread title was referring to things in our own life. There ar a few things I'd like to go back and do differently, but not many, because I don't want to go too far back and relive too many years. "...with like-minded people one cannot discuss. I always found it odd that back in ancient Greece and Roman times, people took baths on a regular basis, We had men of pure genius like Archimedes. And then in the middle ages, you have people not taking baths for months at a time, and human knowledge seemed to take a step back. I wonder where we would be now if human scientific knowledge continued to advance in its normal state from ancient Greece. Would we be on Mars already? Or would it be further? Unmanned spacecraft being sent to Alpha Centauri? Other planets outside our solar system? | |

| Moral Turnip Location: Oregon, US Posts: 2,283 | I'd go back to the beginning and watch. Of course, according to what I've heard about quantum mechanics and such, the very act of observing (or measuring?) matter changes how the matter acts, or something like that, and so maybe my presence at the beginning would change it. Then again, if the question is, how did a consciousness arise from nothing to set the universe in motion . . . Maybe it'll be me. Then I'd go watch true genius at work: Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Dante, Shakespeare, Edison, Newton, Einstein, etc., etc. If I could change anything, I would remove the Bible from a place of prominence. I think anyone with a faith should come to it personally, instead of through dogmatic instruction; plenty of people have a personal revelation from the Bible, but many more have suffered because of it and the arguments in engenders -- not to mention the number of times that promising threads die in the war of obscure Scripture quotations. It should just be a piece of historical literature, no more influential than Beowulf or the Canterbury Tales. "Would you like some pie, Dr. Stark?" "Science is my pie. Curiosity, my sweet tooth. Yes send the Kaffir back to where they belong! Maybe perhaps then you can send the crackers, the spics, the yids, the slavs, the wogs, the kykes and the micks back too. Then it would only be the Native Americans, and sure they got along fine till everybody else showed up " UKIP -- the United Kingdom Independence Party, the golf club version of the BNP, British National Party.
