Robertson: God Says Tsunami Possible For U.S.

POSTED: 9:19 pm EDT May 17, 2006
UPDATED: 5:14 am EDT May 18, 2006

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The Rev. Pat Robertson says God has told him that storms and possibly a tsunami will hit America's coastline this year.

The founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network has told viewers of "The 700 Club" that the revelations came to him during his annual personal prayer retreat in January.

"If I heard the Lord right about 2006, the coasts of America will be lashed by storms," Robertson said May 8.

He added specifics in Wednesday's show.

"There well may be something as bad as a tsunami in the Pacific Northwest," he said.

Robertson has come under intense criticism in recent months for suggesting that U.S. agents should assassinate Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine retribution for Israel's pullout from the Gaza Strip.

Confidentialy, that wasn't God talking to him. I put a hiddden loudspeaker in his house, and I occasionally speak into it and pretend to be God. Sorry guys!

I hear god sometimes, he tells me to burn things

what are they gonna do when the lights go down?
Without you to guide them all to Zion?
What are they gonna do when the rivers overrun?
Other than tremble incessantly

Now there's a less than ingenious "out" to cover his ass. What, was the lord mumbling, perhaps lapsing back into Aramaic or something?

"...or maybe He said, "A host of Americans will cash in on porn." Yeah, that's it. Or maybe it was, "The boasts of Americans will be matched by foreigners." It's hard to tell what God's saying sometimes... he has an accent, y'know."

Lets see now, larger and more hurricanes the last few years -wait - I had a vision--- this year we will have hurricanes.

As far as a tsunami goes - he's been watching PBS and thinks that global warming will knock another chunk of glacier off causing the Northwest tsunami.

I had another vision -- the Canary island La Palma volcano will erupt and split the island in half causing a 100 ft tsunami to wash ashore on our east coast and submerge Florida - unless you change your ways.

Or somebody has figured out how to make small earthquakes happen. Man made earthquakes? possible?

Anyhow, if man figured out how to make synthetic acts of god, a false prophet would soon follow. no doubt. It'd be someone in the loop, I'll bet.

I was about to post this article to see what people would say about it. I really don't know what to make of it.

So thats why Pat had the vision of a tsunami hitting Oregon. :) Does he remind anyone else of Alfred E. Newman ?

The fool said more or less the same thing back in 1989 claiming that God would send natural disasters to Florida after Disney World had a "Gay Day" at its theme park.
Quote:
After Orlando, Florida, city officials voted in 1998 to fly rainbow flags from city lampposts during the annual Gay Days event at Disney World, Robertson issued the city a warning: "I don't think I'd be waving those flags in God's face if I were you. ... [A] condition like this will bring about the destruction of your nation. It'll bring about terrorist bombs, it'll bring earthquakes, tornadoes and possibly a meteor."
Paradoxicaly, he has denied that God would specifially send a tsunami:
Quote:
Responding to a question from ABC host George Stephanopoulos about why a God "so involved in our daily life" would allow a tsunami to kill hundreds of thousands of people, Rev. Pat Robertson, founder of the Christian Coalition of America, replied: "I don't think He reverses the laws of nature." That statement, on the May 1 edition of ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos, conflicts with other meteorological comments by Robertson, who has repeatedly linked natural disasters to the will of God.
Pat Robertson's contradictory theology: God won't stop a tsunami -- but might respond to Gay Days with an earthquake

Heh. Maybe Robertson has been talking to the SuitMonsters.

By the way, Joe Vialls died in 2005

Then again, Robertson is a frequent victim of "foot in mouth" disease.

Or maybe he heard from God. Who knows?

Pat, and God, and G. W. all probably have each other on the Blackberry, so they can keep in close contact.

Possibly a tsunami? So God is not much of a decider then. Is he? I thought God was all knowing. Maybe Pats God is a lesser god.
