Body Found in Boarding House Backyard

NewsChannel 9 was first on the scene Monday afternoon when neighbors discovered a body in the backyard of a boarding house on Fairleigh Street in Chattanooga. Neighbors called police to the scene just before four p.m. A neighbor was mowing his lawn when he noticed a foul smell coming from beneath a cloth. The neighbor decided to check it out, and when he looked, he found a dead body.

I have let my grass go before, but I ain't never found a dead body in it.

God, I hate these stories. I met a man who saved one - this woman walked out of the hospital after having her baby, left it at a bus stop, and a few feet later started smoking meth. This guy took the baby inside and called 911. They saved the baby and put her in jail. There is a law in AZ that a baby can be dropped off at the hospital or fire station with no questions asked. Why do people do things like this?

'tis what I assumed. I guess these people were rednecks, but it has been a long time since I mowed my yard and found a dead body that they couldn't identify the sex of before it hit the radio.I heard it on the Duke (197.9 Duke FM) and from the info they had, the body was so decomposed they were unable to determine the gender. I guess they got a preliminary DNA report on him when the linked report was posted.


PS: by "a long time" I mean never. I have, however, had my backyard mowed to find a half-buried burnt down house that wasn't supposed to be there. :eek:

well. for one, it was a business backyard, for the other, it wasn't mine in all technicality. it used to be my dad's. but when it was mowed, it was my aunt's (the evil witch evicted us on the grounds that she had a new boyfriend and didn't need us).
