Hi.

I'm 35, married and mom of 3. I am originally from NYC and have been movin' round the country a bit since 30 ending up here in VA. I currently am a stay-at-home mom who would like to go back to school or work once they are all in school full-time although I do not know if I will have the energy for either since my 2 little ones are always in a heated battle and my oldest who's 16 is constantly accusing me of something. I love to read, ride my bike, go for walks, hang out with friends and watch movies. I was invited here by PhanthomOps and have found it to be a great place for expression.....finally. So many other posting boards get so vicious that they lose sight of the original thought. So, thanks to Sean for starting this sight and posting an etiquette.

Classify me as his friend? Maybe, maybe not.
My association with PhanthomOps is close but my opinions are not the same and I have been known to disagree vehemently with him. Ask him yourself. :)

PH,
I gathered by the smiley face. Thanks for the welcome, it's pretty cool here. But there is a riddle in my message if you can figure it out. :)

I hate talking about myself... I think that's why I never posted in this topic before. o_O

My name is Rachel (I guess you can tell from my alias LOL) and I'm 19. I consider my political views fairly moderate, although some label me as conservative (that's only because they're liberal! =PpP). I've been working as a paralegal (menial stuff like bankruptcies, living trusts, research) for two years now and have been doing legal work for about five years total (for my father's legal practice).

My dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease when I was 14, so since that time it has more or less been my priority to help him as much as I possibly can (and now to aid him and take care of him). Because of that school has been sort of rocky for me, and this last year I took no classes at all. Right now I'm deliberating on going into nursing instead of law school, and will be taking a CNA course in the coming fall regardless.

That's pretty much my life in a nutshell. =PpP

My name is Phil, I'm 31 and live in Texas. The more conservative you are the more Liberal I become. I work for myself.

Why are you 'MrHate'?

I'm MrHate for lots of reasons, really, but my favourite is because given enough time I can make any conservative hate my guts. hahaha The name MrHate automatically puts my opponents on the defensive and makes them edgy. An edgy opponent has lost their edge, if you know what I mean. I love to harass, berate, and humiliate conservatives, but only with facts they can't spin their way out of or lie and try to deceive their way out of. I can't stand typical conservative tricks like dodging an issue they don't want to deal with, calling names because they don't have a leg to stand on, and my personal favourite; creating a distraction for one of their little buddies that's being put through the fire. I've got quite a few libertarian views but the harder conservatives push the more Liberal I become. I've told several conservatives on another forum that I would rather swallow broken glass than agree with people who act the way they do, and I mean it. I can't stand the conservative mentality that all Liberals are stupid and they know best about everything. Conservatives love to treat anyone who disagrees with them like a redheaded stepchild. That doesn't float as far as I'm concerned. I prefer civilized and productive debates but I've been known to throw rocks when they're thrown at me.

Mr. Hate,

Careful with the whole Left/Right phony debate. Many posters here are pretty educated and though they might SEEM conservative to you, that may have more to do with YOU than it does with THEM. Welcome.

I think it's always pretty obvious who the Bush cheerleaders are and who aren't, RD. At any rate I'll be watching for a while and shining my boots before applying shoe leather to anyone's backside. Thanks for the welcome. Time will tell if you regret it. haha

So, the "Bush cheerleaders" are the conservatives and the Clintonistas as the liberals, correct?

Nah, not all conservatives cheer for Bush. Not all Liberals are Clintonistas either. It's possible to support your candidate without swelling from it.

So, from your posts, I'm assuming you are a "liberal" and you think that people that would consider themselves "conservatives" are pretty dumb, correct?

Rox, he didn't say anything of the kind. When he says the more conservative you are the more liberal he becomes, that indicates he's NOT so liberal until someone makes him go that direction by going too far the other way.

I really don't understand your point, but feel another thread or some PM's should be started instead of us hijacking this thread.

:-)

I interpreted his comments to be directed at certain kinds of conservatives, but hey, I could be very wrong. So we shall see....

I understand your point, Rox.
