Janis Joplin's Greatest Hits, I can't think of one song that was mediocre.Everything she did she owned, and no one has duplicated her since. She also broke down doors for future women in Rock to step through.

The Gut Reaction Journal (Issue #91 10/23/2011) is now online!
This week: Republicans, Cain, Elitists and my experience in Occupy Delaware's General Assembly

PatrickHenry's right. Why don't each of us list our 143 favourite albums. The rest of us will then pore over each list in rapt fascination, right?
My favourite album is often the one I'm listening to at the moment. In the past half hour it's been Neil Diamond's Velvet gloves and spit, which includes the song Brooklyn Roads. What a beautiful song -- so evocative of childhood and the irreversible passage of time.

Gonna have to say Endorama, by Kreator. Every one of the songs on that album kick ass.

well what God wants them to do because
I notice it always coincides with
their own desires."

while I really love disturbeds newest album, I am going to have to go with REO SPEEDWAGONS GREATEST HITS-LIVE!!!!

Bob Dylan - Bringing It All Back Home
It's a perfect album, containing some of his best songs; It's Alright Ma (I'm only bleeding) and It's All Over Now, Baby Blue being my faves.
Alternatively, Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Works perfectly as a concept album. It could be just one long 40+ min track and it would still be essential.

I have too many, too diverse.
I view a favorite album as one I listen to every song, without a contention.
Too many, too diverse, but here are a few of them.
Lynyrd Skynyrd: One More From The Road
Sarah McLachlan: Fumbling Towards Ecstasy
Enya: Paint the Sky with Stars
Danzig: Danzig
Metallica: Master of Puppets
Tomita: Snowflakes are Dancing
Black Sabbath: Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

I was listening to Yes's Close to the edge last night for the first time in many years. I was struck by just how awful the singer's voice is: whiny, scratchy, off-key. Jaysus!

Rolling Stones -Their Satanic Majesties Request
Jethro Tull - Heavy Horses
The Levellers - Levelling The Land
Horslips The Tain
Man - Live Official Bootleg
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Tangerine Dream Stratosfear
Bob Marley & The Wailers Legend
Ian Drury-New Boots and Panties
Brooklyn roads - the live version is great !Quote by: Nono
Hell Freezes over - Eagles. My favourite .
Rod Stewart - Greatest hits .
best of John Denver .
this list will never end.

Crap-
Best Album- Ummm, I'm very fond of REM's Life's Rich Pagent.
But, if we are cheating and doing Greatest Hits or Anthologies, I'd have to go with the Doors. For, you see, though they are my favorite band when considering their total catalogue, I can think of single albums by multiple other artists that I like better than any single Doors album. Hard to pick.
