I really resent the concept of holidays, but I deeply appreciate my family and friends...every day. As it happens I could sure go, about now, for some hot turkey, with gravy, cranberry sauce and all the trimmings -- where I live it's already suppertime. So I wish you all bon appétit. And Isherwood's right: holidays like this oblige people to slow down and appreciate what's really important. | 9/11: Inside Job Location: Hawai'i, Big Island Posts: 10,438 | I helped at my church gym with a Thanksgiving Day free luncheon sponsored by the Salvation Army. I helped with the parking and the cleanup. I also helped consume a plate of food and several helpings of pumpkin pie. It was a party where everyone was invited. Some of the people who came were homeless, some were single or childless couples, some were impoverished families, some were just local folks who wanted to participate in a community feast. That was the nature of the Original Thanksgiving wasn't it?
