Google bombs are often cute. There was one a while back that returned a funny page as the first hit when you searched for "WMD"s.

I was watching FOX News some time back (I do it while studying because I know I'll never get interested enough in it to be distracted) and they were trying to act as if Google was making a political statement. I swear sometimes they are so stupid.

interesting how the second link showed up though.. i know lots of people don't like michael moore (including myself), but i never see the word "failure" associated with him.

Bishop, "google bombing" means that a relative minority of strongly politically motivated people have intentionally caused the two to coincide apart from their natural occurrence in order to produce the result indicated above. It does not necessarily indicate a consensus, rather it is the opinion of a motivated few with a lot of free time on their hands. (I rather suspect the "Michael Moore" one was the backlash from a motivated few with opposing political alignment and a lot of free time on their hands. That would explain the lack of correlation you mentioned).

pretty pathetic that there actually are losers out there who pay attention to that stuff - like the ones who got michael moore onto the list.. i've seen his name associated with "loser" a lot, but can't recall seeing "failure" used very often.. then again, i don't usually bother to read anything about moore.
