Like I have already written, "Theists" and "Theologists" are titles that suggest an absolute belief in God is the only point that defines a religion. This is not so, because many well-to-do religious people are not theists, but follow Buddhism or some other worthwhile atheist religion. Thus, those two titles are not very favorable in that they cause extreme confusion if not religious isolation.

Not necessarily. To me, at least, the term 'Theologists' brings to mind the academic term - and that, to me, suggests a group of people exploring the nature of religion - any and all religion. I would recommend that, personally.

Perhaps you are considering the term "Theologian," although I am sure there is no substantial difference between it and "Theologist." You are partially correct because they study the matters of divinity, but they specifically study God (Webster). Nonetheless, we have narrowed the title to "Theologists," "Theologian," "Spiritually Minded," and "Adseculae," which is the one I like the best as you could tell from my previous posts. You may be wondering why we are taking so much time to pick a title, but a confusing can indeed be offensive, radical, or simply faux pas, whereas prospective members might not be attracted. Unless you have any extremely different suggestions or I left out any good ones, please write which one you, the interested members, want to be the title of the group.

What I like in order,Quote by: Agent007
Theoligists=someone who is learned in theology or who speculates about theology
Theoligian=Someone who is learned in theology or who speculates about theology
(Theology=The rational and systematic study of religion and its influences and of the nature of religious truth)
Spiritually Minded
Pardon me, but I don't like Adseculae too much.
"ADSECULA => Latin: N 1 1 M follower; attendant, servant; hanger-on, sycophant, creature"
It tends to lead to the Christian faith more than others. Because I have only heard "We are followers of Christ" Where as in Buddhism that is not even a part of their religion, (following)
Same with Servants. You'll find most Christian religions believe we are servants and followers of God but not in all of them. I'm just trying to help keep the title open to all types of religions, as which I hope we all want.
I feel I am, myself, a theologist in beginning. I want to learn about the whole concept of religion and discuss it with all. So that is what I was hoping this group would be about.
Anyways. Good luck with a name.

We can name it "Theologists," but it may result in hundreds of threads by people like Starboy and Gorgo that will never stop criticizing us for our beliefs. They will call us cowards for our seeking a private group and leaving them out of discussions. I do not believe "Adseculae" makes this group seem more Christian; all followers of religion follow a religion. This is why they are called "followers," or adseculae in Latin. The term seems to diverge from a more absolute terminology. However, if more people like the former, I think that is what the name shall be.

I actually like ADSECULAE since it sounds cool and for the reasons you mentioned, agent.

ADSECULAE, subtitled Religious People.

How about religionists?
FTR I have no problem with religion, just supernatural religion. You will have to address the difference in your discussions.

Hold the damn phone. You look at all the posts I've made on Volconvo and see where I've called anyone a coward, or an idiot, or any other name. Please. Find it and then maybe you have some call to say that I'd do that. Maybe you don't mean to be insulting, but this is insulting.Quote by: Agent007
I do not think you are cowardly for wanting a private group, I do not think going to church is cowardly and the only thing that might I might see as even bordering on cowardly about the whole thing is for you to use my name in that way.
If you use an obscure term, are new people going to be scared away?
Sounds great. When are we going to have some formal debates between the groups?
