Wait. I didn't mean to cause an issue. I understand that God is the point of religion and must be considered as part of the discussion. I'm happy with any name that includes the exploration of religion and not any specific religion as a whole.
As for Starboy, what is your point in causing a debate here? This thread is not in the debate section.

Why wouldn't you want an opposing opinion. It is not as if you will not be forced to defend your choice when the time comes to debate.Quote by: Thunder Wave

I will debate but not here. Besides I have nothing against the supernatural. I find it amazing and an entirely interesting discussion.Quote by: Starboy
But religions tend to be offended by being called supernatural. So you wont really be debating against me. I am open to all sorts of thoughts. But I will add what I think.

God is not the purpose of Buddhism or Asatru. Buddhists either don't have an opinion on God or even pity them (God's can reach enlightenment), while heathens like me, Asatru, respect, admire, occaisionally ask for help from and strive to be as like the God's as we can, but we don't worship them.
As a consequence, I would be against giving the title of the group any submissive qualities.

It's just how Starboy is. That's one reason we need a Theist group. Because you literally can't discuss anything about God without Starchild getting belligerent, confrontational, and condesending.Quote by: Thunder Wave

It's nice to know you are operating on a 2 year old mentality Starchild. "I won't stop being an ass unless daddy makes me". You and my little brother would get along well.Quote by: Starboy

IMO, Starboy has shown a penchant for disrespecting other members. You are correct, Prometheus, in opining that his presence at Volconvo is one of the prime movers in initiating a "Religious Persons" private group. So as to exclude him and his ilk.
To you Starboy, please find your joy in the other God-discussion threads and leave this one alone. It is a recruitment thread for a group you will most certainly not be a member of...

The theists on this forum have been defending ourselves against your oppsing viewpoint for plenty of time. It always plays out the same. We start a discussion about god, you jump in with the exact same, old and tired argument. Any and every religious discussion gets sidetracked into you redundant argument. You are doing it with this thread. I predicted that you would do it with the cannabalism thread, and you did.Quote by: Starboy
It's not that anyone is threatened by what you have to say (I know you want to believe this). Its that we are weary of dealing with the same old crap from you aver and over again.
Get some dignity and grow up.

What the hell! I leave this thread for one day and it turns into a relative mess. All truly interested people should be discussing a new name. Thus, unless Starboy has experienced an overnight epiphany, his opinion is not useful here. As for "Theists" and "Theologists," the terms indeed limit our religious scope; for instance, they may leave out Buddhists and people with somewhat atheist religions who do not necessarily believe in God but have substantial and empirically worthwhile religions. I am leaning more for "Spiritually Minded" or "Adseculae," but perhaps because of my unfortunate partiality, I am leaning for the latter, since we are "followers" of some religious code and "servants" of its will in society. By the way, we should hurry up on this naming issue before apathy takes over and the group is not created; already the "Libertarian" group is existent.

A (hopefully reasonable) suggestion from a non-religious person: The Believers? Or perhaps The Faithful?

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

Please not "the believers" or the "faithfull"- it sounds southern baptist. Just go with "theists" or "theologists".
