"The gun show!" *pulls up right sleeve and flexes. I think between me, Dun, Os, and my boy Wolf, anybody who came after you would be severely f***ed. Clean toe caps and a filthy mouth! I am only a bad ass when required, and am quite skilled in both stand up fighting, ground fighting, submission, bladed weapons and guns. Stone, nice remark that I refuse to take personal, since you must have been a jarhead? LOL Nothing personal here fellow Marines, I just couldn't help but pick up on the rivalry I think he is referring to. I've been scuffed by some marines, and they too have taken home some scuffs from me. There is a bar in Rhode Island that will never allow another grunt in there I think, after the mess the squids and the jarheads made just in crushed tables and broken furniture. Captains Mass is so quaint! By the way, I was planning on trying the S.E.A.L.s but my marriage and dedication to the job got in the way. I can't work for a government I no longer endorse the actions of, especially if I am a tool of their master plan. Truly though, I am a really nice guy, and don't lose my temper unless provoked extensively. I was a power-lifter(clean), though I only lift occasionally now since being laid-off, the gym doesn't like me enough to keep me there free... 8) Thanks again for the kind words, and I am always available for protection, have a commercial limo license, and a CCW permit on the way. I am experienced in Defensive, and Offensive driving, and am ready for some good work again. | Guest Posts: n/a | Osborn, Yeah, that was tongue in cheek. Two of my best pals were corpsman. Stupid sailors! LOL I have not beaten a squid since we were training to process civilians on ship. We staged a riot and I managed to bust one of the sailors out of the crowd that jumped me. Ah, the good old days. Long hours, no pay, and plenty of verbal abuse. I hope things look up for you in the job market. |

I asked for names to be deleted one time, when I (stupidly) believed that their actions against me would cease. After that, I re-posted their names and never asked for removal. The key in what you said is 'started my own thread' I can start a thread on any topic I want, and no one has to read or respond. I'm not taking over other's, and there's no reason for so much interference from you in my own. "...with like-minded people one cannot discuss. It was basically a big flat bottom boat, with a hull that opened in the rear to launch Marine amphibs out of, or the front of the hull could land on the beach, and drop a huge ramp for them to drive out the front (tanks, jeeps, etc.) All of the vehicles, and carrying ability was for Marines, and it was basically a big Marine landing craft driven, operated and controlled by Navy folks. You want to talk about branch rivalries, try living with a bunch of jarheads and squids on floating sardine can for months on end! I think the funniest thing was, mess deck squabbles, friendly competititons and the overall non-stop camaraderie. I respect (Jarheads, Bullet-Stoppers, Grunt Sailors) Marines, but the rivalry never dies. Just check out the Virginia Beach bar scene off base! I always got hours of enjoyment from listening to salty old sailors, or old devil dogs rehashing their war stories and memories of yesteryear. The most honorable and respected miltary person I ever met in the flesh, was a 1st Class Petty Officer I knew from the Little Creek Amphib base. The thing that led me to talk to him in the first place, was I saw him in his dress whites, and this guy had medals, pins, and hash marks from his cuffs to his collar practically. This guy must have been in forever and a day, and he was still a 1st Class Enlisted rank. After broaching the topic of the hash marks, and his rank, he told me "Fuck becoming a fucking officer. Fucking officers don't know fuck. Everytime they bitch at me about motivation to become a fucking officer, I go fuck up and get in a fight, and they tell me I can't become a fucking officer, so fuck 'em. If they can't take the hint, Fuck 'em!" This guy had seen the planet by Navy ship, and had a tattoo or embroidered section in his uniform sleeve from every place he had been. When you rolled up the sleeves of his uniform, he had some awesome internal silk liner, with embroidered dragons from the Phillipines I think he said. Truly a pinnacle example of the mastery of "sailor talk", old salt, and war stories that would just blow your mind. The best thing was, he was as honest as they come, and if you didn't like what he had to say, you better watch it, cause he would defend every word! Quite a character, and a classic example of a kick ass, take names sailor. He really helped me get through some tough times in Little Creek, a hell of a guy. I will always share a bond with my brothers in arms. | Guest Posts: n/a | Osborn, Yeah, outsiders do not understand. Heck, I used to beat on my younger brother because he was my younger brother. Same thing with the military. I was on ship for a six-month float. It was a blast. Good ports, cool training (Thai Marine obstacle course, month in Kuwait, etc.), and a bunch of nasty sailors. Our gunny was a crusty, Dan Daly kind of person. He could not stand our corpsman. Doc Eddie was a real nasty pirate. He was pretty much the opposite of our lean and mean battery. We were constantly closing the hatch to the berthing area and having brawls. If it came down to a sailor fighting civilians or another branch, I would have thrown in with the sailor. I had several good examples to emulate. Hell, one of my last roommates thought I was going to kill him. He told me, after we started hanging out, that he slept with a knife under his pillow for the first two weeks. LOL |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Pretty much. Stupid civilians. LOL I am busting a gut to this day over that stuff. Hell, I am about as calm and laid back in real life as you can get. I just turned it on to keep everyone's morale up and to scare the new guys in the unit. My guys nicknamed me 'Iceman.' Great times. |

I actually tried out the links right after I put them up and found out they wouldn't work, so I just figured anyone who was actually interested in seeing them could just copy and paste the url's. But that's just because I'm a horribly lazy individual who hasn't had time to figure out the correct way to post pictures here yet... |
