I suppose it is possible that I, as a law abiding citizen, could get swept up in some anti terrorist action...but under Clinton's plan, my activities would be reported every day regardless of whether I was under any particular investigation or not...given a choice of two distasteful options, I would opt for the patriot act... ![]() Throbbing Member Location: Old Europe Posts: 6,696 | PH: "I came to an understanding of the need for citizen arms ownership to prevent gov tyranny." How, practically, does gun ownership prevent government tyranny? The tyrants will always be able to far outgun the would-be untyrannized. And in addition to these few principled individuals who wish only to neutralize excessive govenment interference in their lives (by blowing away the tax inspector or perhaps an overzealous dog-catcher) there are the legions of nutjobs for whom the weapon is an ersatz extension of their inadequate penis. These are the people who have the potential to go postal, and regularly do. So it seems to me that freely available firearms amount to a vain gesture by the relatively small stay-out-of-my-life crowd while rendering highly dangerous any number of trigger-happy loonies. And don't hospital records bear this out, with gunshot wounds now an epidemic in US cities, and those suffereing them seldom the agents of federal oppression but rather various criminal elements or just people who were in the wrong place at he wrong time? Well, I think I had a 90%+ chance of getting it right, what with the both of us living in the North Western hemisphere and have easy access to PC & Net. <!--QuoteBegin-Waychel, Living in UK... hum does that mean you have a UK or Asian accent? =PpP[/quote] I grew up in the Rural areas, funnily enough I don't have an accent, well I might have a standard accent, which is what the News broadcasters in Britain speak like. I can also speak Cantonese semi fluently, though having only learnt it for 4 years, alot has been forgotten...
