    Happy Year of The Tiger

Yep. It's the Chinese Lunar New Year soon and this year it falls on Valentine's Day. The last time this happened was 1953.

    Happy New Year all!

Isn't that ironic considering that the year of the tiger is traditionally a year to avoid marriage.

Chinese to make money, not marry, in Lunar New Year  - Yahoo! News UK
"If you marry this year, your husband may die earlier," said Joyce Lin, 25, a university graduate. "My parents are not superstitious, so I am also not, but in our opinion it is not a good time for marriage.
It's a matter of life and death.

In Chinese societies, the husband is usually older than the wife. Indeed, often very much older. And given that men generally have shorter lifespans anyway, chances are that the husband will die earlier than the wife. So, Joyce, you're right, but you're not telling us anything we don't know and it's gonna be true whatever year it is!
