Photos (not of yourself)

I dont remember if this has been a thread before or not but I came across some interesting stuff today (as I always do) and I happen to have the camera out and ready. (55-200mm lens on) so I thought I would share. I think this would be a good place for us al to share daily goings on with eachother. I live in the bible belt and have started a flickr group on my flickr.

Anyway Here are some recent contributions I saw when driving today:

A car that was supposed to merge jumped out in front and cut me off. Which I didn't mind cause I wanted to take her picture and the ridiculous bumper sticker:

Incredible display of idiocy. Bearing in mind you could only see this type of stuff in America. The bumper sticker reads: "Blessed are the peacemakers in Iraq Stamping out evil"

I am sitting there driving up Church and I make a right on Rosa Parks. I stop at a red light at Commerce. I want to take a photo down Commerce. I glance to the right and hey! look at who is staring at me!

Tried to photograph this monster freight train in Canada at dusk last year, but the ground was shaking so much I couldn't hold the camera still. Screwed up the moon too.

This is Mont Blanc, Europe's highest mountain. High summer. On the left (faintly) is the trail left by climbers on the way to the summit.

I apologize for the oversize pics, by the way. Photobucket just won't let me do anything about it ....

I live in a wooded area. We have all kinds of critters. I'm not fond of the black snakes because on more than one occasion I've had to yank them out of the blue bird house.

He wasn't crazy about me touching his tail.

Why would you take a picture of your pork butt?

I'd like to thank Charlie Hodge, bringing me scarves and water.

That's "pork shoulder butt". (And no butts about it!)

some pics of my models. All of them are for table top strategy games that can be very fun:

Here's my army of High Elves. 60 spearmen, 20 swordmasters, 8 silver helms, many archers (i don't know how many there actually is ), a repeater bolt thrower, a Tyronic Chariot, 3 mages, and a prince. I have another prince done, not show in the picture, along with 5 Phoenix Guard. This is for the Games Workshop game Warhammer.

Ah, the space marines. I have 50 regular marines, 10 terminators, 10 assualt marines, 5 scouts, 5 command squad guys, 4 honor guard, 4 servitors, 1 tech marine, 3 bikes, 1 dreadnaught, 1 land raider, 1 whirlwind, 2 predator annihilators, 1 vindicator , 1 rhino, 5 devastators, 2 commanders, 1 chaplain, 1 librarian, 1 Marneus Calgar. This is for Warhammer 40,000

I also am building up an Eldar army, which i will reveal eventually.

My gothic fleet. They are also marines. It features 2 space marine battle barges, 1 mars class battle cruiser, 1 gothic class cruiser, 6 strike cruisers, and 10 escorts. I also have another cruiser in the works.

I'm considering writing a cook book for my two older sons. They no longer live with me and often call to ask for my recipes. They happen to be visual learners. It would be much easier for them to know what they are looking for at the market than to have to sort thru the various cuts of meat. (Is that what some would consider a mother's love?)

heh...either that or I'm a foodie? You should see my pati ~pan squash recipe. It' starts with:

I thought about doing the same thing. But my book would only be two pages long. I eat the same 6-7 ingredients, I just put them in pasta one day, rice the next, or tortillas the day after that. Then you throw in a sauce and your done.

In trying to not make my book a boring two pages, I came up with this:

Blue corn tortillas with eggs, cheese, watercrest, and spicy mustard (center of plate).

I never thought that a cross between nachos and cheese and an omelette would look so pretty

Last Sunday Sarah suddenly took an interest in whatever it was I was doing online at the moment.

She must have thought I was podcasting, as she seemed to have something to say.

I love breakfast for dinner! (although it usually means I need to go food shopping)

I'm thinking maybe we should have a food /recipe thread? It all looks so delish!

Well I really wanted this thread to go in the direction - posting pictures not of yourself, and really, not even of people (see my examples). You may use the other thread for people.

Let's see if this thread can be of use to me. I've been trying for several years to get these two plants identified. Anyone here have an idea?

I wonder if this is a mirror, or shiny metal. Either way, falling off the back of this motorcycle seems like a matter of time.

More great pics of dangerously overstacked bike riders.
