| pregnant with truth Posts: 2,419 | In search of definition I don't know why I can't think of the word or how to find the word describing this person. The first impression is good. If you are in any forced presence like school, work, or a band maybe, the impression becomes tainted. He is nice to people's face almost invariably yet will likely talk about you when you're gone since he does it to everyone else. When you talk to this person you always feels he's trying to say something, beating around the bush. Commonly, this person will substitute his perception of your feelings as his own as if to draw a response..or something. He thinks of himself as mentally superior to most yet labels others as narcissists regularly. but not to their face of course. Has a general disdain for authority yet is remarkeably submissive to those same authority figures. seeks perfection and whines alot I've ran across this same character (different dudes) many times and I'm guessing there's a definition out there since it's obviously a type of character or something. any help? all comments welcome |

Rather than a definition (which you've provided above). I'm not sure there's one all-encompassing word for such a creature. Sounds like a weaselly, inflated, hypocritical jerk to me. | pregnant with truth Posts: 2,419 | so here's the story. Like I said, I've met this guy time and again and there's something about this character that really gets me fired up before it's done. I been working at this pub within walking distance. I've lost my liscense so my options are limited and since I don't really need to do it I went to where I'd enjoy myself, this pub. Well, this dude I'm talking about has decent taste in music and we share some political realizations so initially we did fine. You gotta understand this pub should be the hottest culinary thing in this town. I don't know where they got the menu and concept but dayum, I'm trained to know that this place should be a winner yet it's not. I've decided that the concept came from another town via the owner's son who doesn't work. Looks like he jacked the whole recipe book and menu. So after a couple weeks of working I come in there opening the kitchen up and prepping cooking and making customers/waitstaff happy on a daily basis. I liked what I was doing. I'm qualified to run this place and when they stumble we'll likely own the place. But in the mean time I'm minding my own. Easy to do when you're the only one in the kitchen. Yet, I notice resentment from the owners at odd times. I'm getting confused because though I talk about buying the place now this is not an attitude I put a cross at all. Right now I'm just feeling slightly vindictive. I never...trust me. Just making some christmas money ya know? The owners began to make things tough on me. Really busting my balls. I'm like wtf? Slowly I realize I'm in a piosonous work environment. Bad attitudes have dug themselves in thouroughly. I realize this dude is talking shit to these people. I dunno what. Anyway, it sounds worse than it is for me but this character..I always run into him. Last time I was his boss. So I blame this guy for pissing in my well because all I did was make/save the owners money. FOr the life of me I cannot figure why they had to push me to tell them about thierselves Then I was trying to find the definition for this type personality... and so here's another thread. Thanks for listening. I gotta go back down and get my check sweater and tapes tuesday. hopefully no-one gets busted in the mouth. |
