| automatic Posts: 461 | Saw 4 ![]() So I just watched saw 4 a couple nights ago. So it turns out Jigsaw comes back to life and blows up the police station... Just kidding. Don't worry, I won't "ruin" the movie for anyone... The Saw quadrilogy is really good in my mind, however - it isnt over yet. They left it open for a saw 5, easily, and I know next halloween it will come out. When does it stop? Saw 1 was excellent, saw 2 was really good, saw 3 was good, saw 4 was good... The only way they should make a saw 6 is if saw 5 brings it back up to excellent. I am afraid that won't happen.. But they make a killing off these movies so they gotta rush to push out the next one.. sigh. They always gotta sacrifice quality for quantity these days, they make a kickass first movie, then they know people will watch the next releases without even thinking about it. $$$... This is my signature. |

I find such flicks to be dehumanizing...as if you lose some of your humanity every time you watch them. The storyline in the movie is designed to make you appreciate life and don't take anything or anyone for granted - theres just a lot of bloody murder and wicked traps designed to make you choose severe pain or death.. but its SO COOL! AND IT HAS MORALS!! This is my signature.

I can't watch that shit. "Moral courage is the most valuable and usually the most absent characteristic in men." - General George S. Patton, Jr |

The second SAW was flat and the twist was unsatisfactory to me. It seemed aimed at teenagers and had an MTV feel to it, if that makes any sense to anybody. After that rip off of an hour and a half of my time I never saw the 3rd one. Last edited by ruksak; Nov 7, 2007 at 03:29 am. |

They tortured people with shitty rap music? Damn, that is brutal. "Iron rusts from disuse; water loses its purity from stagnation... even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind. " - Da Vinci

To little gore and the traps this time were hardly good and original. The first movies had wicked cool traps that related to thhe victems, these were just poorly done and less gore and blood than I expected. What do you say to an atheist who sneezes? | slipping sand Posts: 1,996 | Yep...just an excuse for brutal violence and torture on screen. It's scary how many people love that stuff. I can't see this being popular in say, the 50s or 60s. Have people really changed or has the market just grown to accomodate our truly sick desires? |

It's inherently wrong. Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. Like the first movie, finding out why those 2 men were inside was the thriller, and later on its the background behind each trapped person. Doesn't most anime have fairly graphic drawn violence? | automatic Posts: 461 | Oh come off it peeps, its ENTERTAINMENT. Scary movies have been around for a long time. Gore is no different from seeing someone getting shot in a movie... and at least saw gives meaning behind the gore. Unlike friggen Hostile.. or Hostle, hostel? The one where they kill american trouists.. a brutal movie. I think saw has a good enough back story behind everything that it balances out.. I dont go just to watch people get tortured.. why they are being tortured is more interesting... the goal seems like it is aimed at "appreciate life.. or suffer". Everyone is entitled to their opinion, grown adults should be able to handle a gory movie and not be considered "sick". This is my signature. |
